the only limiting factor i see is the amperage. it's rated at 700mA which is alright for charging a phone or camera, but it would be nice to get something closer to 1A or 2A in case you want to power some bulkier device straight from the DC socket and not mess about with additional transformers

But that's exactly the point. You can't simply pull the cord out of a Schuko, unlike your flimsy piece of shit sockets with no seating ring. And of course I have plugs in my bathroom, that's what splash protection lids were invented for.
