Hello all, I will be studying at the Renmin People's University of China during the fall of 2017 and I was wondering how was the student life over there. I know nothing about China so I was hoping some of you would be able to give me some insight! Like, how the nightlife, the girls, the people, how's the city...
we can't, Sup Forums has had too many issues with china and we're literally not allowed to.
Also China is pretty awesome but I live in Suzhou and its pretty Cosmopolitan. You gotta learn to love the weird side of life, [but you probably already do if you post here]
The food is the best.

I was in Beijing just 2 months ago It's shit. Taxis are cheap but Traffic is horrendous Metro is even cheaper but way too crowded Biking seems the best transport, but the air sucks and sometimes distances are big Food (and eating out/at stalls) is cheap, but you get tired of it pretty quickly. Nightlife can be fun/cheap as a westerner if you come in contact with the ''proppers'' at the clubs (e.g. get to know ''Steve'' at Vic's) Are you a walloon or flemish? Ask any questions

Also, girls are easy as shit in the clubs (even the ones that aren't hookers) Just dance a bit act like you know the english lyrics to the song, point at them and smile. Hookers are cheap but questionable, escortes are same price as here but hotter
Chinese people are egoistic and have no sense of respect for you or your personal space, they also smell.
Bring Loperamide (immodium) beacause at one point you're ging to have the shits (Food poisoning, touristas, or just caused by all the oil in the Food) It's also handy if you want to avoid using public bathrooms.
Don't Bother bringing too many shirts, go to a tailor and have him copy one of your shirts that fits well, or get some made to your measuremebns ( average price per shirt is €10, and they're proper. Clothes from the store are shit and tear/the seams come loose fairly quickly, unless you buy clothes from uniqlo or western Brands, but then proces aren't much cheaper than at home. Basicly anything in China is shit and made to be thrown away after a few uses beacause it isn't made to last long

this counts me out from ever going to china. the toilet stalls dont have doors, do they?
Parker Harris
Most toilets inside buildings (e.g. train stations, restaurants,...) do have dividers and Doors, it's the public toilets in the city (and moreso in the hutongs) that are public in Evert sense of the word.
Regardless, 99% of public toilets are 'french toilets', not really a problem when taking a piss. Really sucks to take a shit on them, especially if you have the runs

>(and moreso in the hutongs)
whats a hutong?
>'french toilets'
are they the hole-in-the-ground ones?
Colton Collins
A french toilet is a squat toilet.
And a hutong is some sort of alleyway, but i'm refering to entire quarters/distrixcts of these things They look like this

It's fucking awful. Easily the worst city I've ever had the displeasure of being in and I had to spend two months in Riverside Californian in my life.
Imagine Cleveland if it was 30 times the size and full of Chinese people.
Austin Kelly
But we don't use it in France. Only in very cheap places. Even we call it toilettes turques.
