Good city but there is no easy way to get a work permit in Turkey. You need to find a sponsor company to apply for it, most work without documents because foreign workers are expensive.

Is it possible to get a permit without a sponsor? I'm under the impression if you get hired before you fly over, a lot of companies will sponsor you anyway?

Eskişehir is my hometown. Its a nice and calm city. Very few Kurdish and Islamist presence so there are no terroist attacks. Literally there has never been one. Also it is safe to go out at night in most parts of the city. You can live a good and happy life if you stay away from ghettos. You might get bored after a while though.

There is no open end Turkish green card equivalent at the moment, you need to apply for permit for every job you work, permit ends when you quit. Some laws are recently changed to ease things for qualified workers but they are not implemented in practice yet.
