Why do Americans name their kids so weird?

British people give their kids dignified names like Hannah, James or Oliver.

Americans name their kids Jayden, Cadey or Laquisha. Even white people do it there.

Why?

Americans aren't dignified

Indulgent murrikan culture is to blame. It used to be, naming a child was an honorable thing you did on behalf of the child. The meaning of the name imbued your hopes for that child's future.

Now, selfish parents give their spawn snowflake names as an extension of themselves.

>Why?
Because they want to, and because they can.
My name is Andrew.

Apparently Jackson is a common first name in the US. Why they don't just call them Jack is strange.

The question you should be asking is why Americans named their country so weird.
The United States of America, seriously? Your country is a jumble of independent states in America that are united, we get it, you couldn't come up with a better, unique name?

Even when the southern states decided to try and fuck off and leave the union, the best they could come up with was Confederated States of America

Man its almost like before we were a unified country we were a bunch of states that all came together

Almost like all of the states united
In the continent of North America

Might be to do with michael jackson

Yes, your country's name is basically an encyclopedia description of your country, ridiculous.

It was more of a loose confederation at first, each nation had their own culture and identity, so it would've been kindof stupid to make a new name.
It would be like criticizing the name of the EU.

...

"Welcome to the US.
These are our dogs: Oliver, William, Jacob and Margaret.
And these are our children: Fido, Cooper, Angel and Rocky."

>say what you mean
>but be nice about it
For many Americans, being direct is considered virtuous. So is being polite.
A plain, descriptive name works. Do you have any better options?
>It would be like criticizing the name of the EU.
This.

stop

>Do you have any better options?
Freedonia.

The real question you should ask here is.

Why would someone name a country after the feeling we get when we're lacking food

>this coming from the person who lives in a country called Iran

Persia is much better

No, thanks.
Agreed.

>It used to be

No it didn't

t. actual old person

Iran has always been called Iran by its people. Persia is a Greek term I think.

I wish our countries got along better.

Me too burgeranon, me too.

I don't. It's fun to watch you bicker.

Is Justin a weird burger name?

We've also come up with about 50 variations of the name Britney:
>Britnee
>Brittany
>Britnay
>Britnae
>Brittony
Theses are just a few examples.
