When did pro wrestling become such a snooze fest? Back in the day, they used to have such weird & interesting characters.

It got more and more PG after the Attitude era. You gotta remember that shit was hardcore as fuck in the 90s always pushing censors, people dying in stunts, and so on. I loved it growing up, every now and then I'll tune in just to see some of my childhood stars still kicking, but it is pretty cheesy now
FUCK YOU HULK HOGAN PIZZA GARBAGE
Yeah, I'm an old fag & saw it through the 80s & 90s. Some weird shit man, but always enjoyable. And the wrestlers back then some even had pot bellies & was just banged up in general.
Now everyone's JOHN CENA!! ripped.
it's a publicly traded company now. there's a board and shareholders and everything. it used to be Vince and who ever he happened to like atm snorting cocaine and winging it.
The destruction of WCW signaled the downward slide into wanton abandon. Without the great rival show to compete with, there's no standard to maintain or surpass with the glamour a good rivalry can produce.
Pro wrestling has always been a snoozefest. How the fuck can you watch that shit if you've ever seen a real sport or even a real fight in your life?
Can't be the dramatic aspects because the stories are worse than a bottom-tier daytime soap opera.
Because it used to be WAY more comical than it is now. youtu.be
I stopped watching when my favourite wrestler murdered Woman and a retarded kid.
Now I just want something to be done about wrestling. It's been going on for way too long and it isn't necessary and it's also harmful.
i literally stopped when Eddie died. first time I felt sadness over the death of someone that I didn't know personally
and then Macho Man and Warrior died
;_;
Who /newjack/ here?
...
tip that to my face, not online, see what happens
>I ran
what did he run from?
Pretty sure you're supposed to post about this shit on B or whatever
Watch Lucha Underground. Problem solved.
Nah don't OP, the women regularly wrestle and beat the men.
Rock and Austin were my first 2 like a lot of people currently. Whatever they did it was electric, funny, interesting, badass. Then they got old/moved on to Hollywood.
Punk and Bryan were the first 2 to capture my attention in probably 10 years and now they are gone too.
So I watch and hope to find that spark for another 10.
>Punk and Bryan were the first 2 to capture my attention in probably 10 years and now they are gone too.
>tickets were sold out
>tfw I missed out on watching it in person

What's next for his career?
I mostly stopped watching after Eddie died too and then stopped completely after Benoit died.
How do I become as likeable as Eddie?

TNA has great characters
Lucha Underground has great characters
WWE is shit
>John Cena is the only recognizable wrestler to people who don't watch wrestling, he's an Mick from Boston and he's not even a drunk character
BALEE DAT
Probably when you started growing pubes and stopped caring about pretend fighting.
>Outlaw wrestling
18+ kiddo
>WWE fan claims to be over 18

haven't watched TNA for so long but i really love the matches of Abyss vs Styles. Abyss is an amazing fucking wrestler, big guy that can move
>TNA
How's that warehouse?

I'm honestly not sure if this would be more appropriate for Sup Forums or Sup Forums. Perhaps neither.
THE FUCK HE KEEPS GETTING THE CREAM CUPS FROM
What's this?
Not being all hurr millennials, but wrestlers themselves have changed massively. Wrestling used to be full of roided up cokeheads and alpha jock athletes who had legit charisma and unique personalities because they came from such diverse backgrounds. The majority of WWE's current roster are indy guys from pretty much the same companies, there's no diversity in their experiences before coming to WWE. They're mostly just happy to be there nice guys who play games backstage and aren't ruthless.
WWE itself has changed massively anyway, and there are obvious exceptions to what I said. Nakamura comes in and he's something completely different and people think he's a god, because they're so used to vanilla twentysomethings without personalities. I think this is probably the first generation that's really been fucked by the lack of multiple major promotions in the US.
Watch New Japan. Or watch older promotions on Youtube.
