It was a parody of 80s genre such as Arnold in commando 1v99, random plot changes, capeshit fights (superman), etc. The only modern joke was the viking muscle joke.

Also every movie having a typical Hacker or "super-hacker cool guy".

It had a shitty plot and characters. Which could be forgiven if the fighting / spectacle was cool, but it was cut rate kickstarter tripe on a shitty greenscreen.

Literally the only mildly funny / cool stuff was Hackerman 'hacking you back to the past' montage and him turning into a giant computer mech at the end.

Kung fury, barbarians, nazis, dinosaur detective, et all were just boring as fuck.

To be honest I don't even remember that much about the 80s since I was under the age of 5, most of my personal nostalgia is 90s shit. In a way, I'll only know the 80s through 80s movies, music, and TV. So maybe one way to look at is a perception of the 80s from an "outsider".
