Pretty fun. Wish it was more like it

The raptor nest scene is GOAT
>tfw Jurassic World was the only movie close to this book in the sheer violence of dino murders
wait this isn't /lit/... I fucked up. Anyway jurassic park thread nonetheless
Bullshit. Nedry has his guts eaten while he's still alive in the books. Aint no shit like that in memeassic world.
I often hear good things about this book. Is it more intended for an adult audience than the film adaptation?
I don't go to /lit/ but i have to imagine they would shit on airport literature.
But honestly sphere was his best novel imho.
Thats my point. That one death of the babysitter lady is the ONLY death in any of the movies that comes close.
I think a second, juvenile T-rex woud have improved the movie.
Very much so.
Also: genetic diagrams, genetic diagrams everywhere. Chrichton did his homework.
A little. The movie actually isnt an awful adaptation, but when you're turning a 400page book into a screenplay you have to cut a lot of sub plots and scenes.
The worst thing to happen was that we never see muldoon and genaro broing it up and shooting missile launchers at the t rex.
It would be cool to see a new jurassic park adaption that is more faithful to the book with more gore and scummy characters like john hammond (yes)
I think getting gradually eaten away by dozens of compys is pretty bad.
>no movie adaptation of Prey
Why won't they adapt his best novel?
I just remember that this book introduced me to the concepts of chaos theory, fractals, and paradigm shifts.
I don't think I've ever read a Crichton novel. Not to my recollection at least. I think I saw a film he directed. Westworld, maybe?
What are some book recommendations.
I forgot about that. Thats inspired by Hammond's death in the book.
dinokino is next after capekino, I can feel it
the dinocraze is long since dead
Well JP and sphere are the two big ones. Andromeda strain and terminal man are really pretty good too and established him as a big name author back in the 70s.
Good. Dino vore is the only way I can get hard anymore.
>mfw I'm not kidding
>What are some book recommendations.
Eaters Of The Dead (the movie adaption being The 13th Warrior)
Wrong that peaked with carnosaur user. But dont watch it because you will have to kill yourself because you just watched the greatest thing ever filmed.
The Great Train Robbery book is awesome. The movie? Okay I gueds.
Quads confirm
Sphere
I did see the Sphere film and hated it for the most part. So I'm assuming I can still read the book without it feeling too familiar?
>Wish it was more like it
Hopefully. I still haven't watched the movie beginning to end but I've read the book twice. If the movie ruins the book for you it's a shame because the book is amazing
I haven't slept in 24 hours. I meant to say I wish there were more like it
vidyakino is next
FFVII movie when?
The movie covers many of the plot points but lacks all the tension and mystery the book had. And you will already know the big reveal at the end, but its a pretty decent read.
ellie sattler was my childhood crush
FFIX is where it's at you gigantic pleb.
Or being torn apart by T-Rexes, or being used to teach a juvenile rex how to hunt, resulting in a slow, agonising death...
Like almost a decade ago user.
One of the best page burners out there. Crichton bullshits the science so well it's easy to suspend your disbelief of dinos. Plus there's way more shenanigans, like the pterodactyl scene from the third film was actually from the first book. Some characters were altered for the movie, such as Hammond being not ao much of an inspirational and lovable grandfather, and more of an asshole. Oh and Goldblum is the main character.
The second book holds up well. Hollywood pretty much demanded he wrote a sequel so they could adapt it, so he did and they basically changed 90% of it anyways. No dinos in San Diego happened, just a sweet Hollywood set piece.
The high hide and attack on the RV was tense as fuck.
The book ends with John Hammond getting eaten by dinosaurs and the island getting bombed and all the dinosaurs dying. Now that's how you end a story. Why didn't Sheckle Jewberg have the balls to follow through?
It was storyboarded and in the original script.
Quads don't lie, and my vhs tape of this can confirm.
