I have this conspiracy theory that half the reason why they casted him is to reach the younger female audience, since he has a massive fanatical fambase of teenage girls and Marvel hopes they could broaden their audience for MCU.

As a diehard Dr. Strange comic fan, I think Cumberbatch will be... decent. I don't think he'll be great, and would have preferred it if Joaquin Phoenix had taken the role when offered, but Cumberbatch is a competent actor and will turn in a competent performance. I'm just not expecting to be amazed.
An older actor would have been preferable.
