In order to more properly write an 80's-inspired short script, today, I'm gonna watch Escape From New York and The Warriors. Wasn't too impressed by EFNY the first time I watched, but I hope a second watch will make it better.

What other 80's movies should I watch? Things that are in this vein.

Road Warrior

REPO MAN

Point Break desu famalam

Solarbabies super 80s and post apocalyptic

NOW ITS TIME FOR

cant fucking wait for this weeks ep. theyre doing Hell Comes to Frogtown

Shit, that's actually pretty helpful.

Thanks, famalams.

EFNY is already looking a lot better.

Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone

Kind of a Road Warrior in the future on another planet kind of thing. Very fun 80s b movie. It has Molly Ringwald in it so super 80s lol.

Turbo kid is a recently made movie that was made to look and feel like an 80s post apocalyptic b-movie and is freaking great. It is on Netflix streaming.

Rambo First Blood for feels/action(stallone flicks)
Conan The Barbarian for cheesy action but good costumes(any 80's arny flick)

Good luck Op!

holy shit, is that the guy from warrior of the lost world?

Watch Miami Vice

That actually looks interesting as fuck

Cobra

>there are fags on this board RIGHT NOW that prefers New York over The Warriors

Nah. Paper Chase Guy's name is Robert Ginty.

dont be fooled, user. not interesting in the least.
>lolsoquirkyXD the movie
its just a feature length kung fury

that guy is fucking hilarious. his constant disinterested delivery kills my sides

New York is still an amazing movie imo.

Anybody know if Los Angeles is worth a watch?

Just do it right, user. And don't go full kung fury, that movie is shit and anything but the 80s.
Watch thief of michael mann, beverly hills cop and terminator

>And don't go full kung fury
Wasn't planning on it.

Just finished EFNY, really fucking good. Better than I remembered

I've seen it. Fun movie, I enjoyed the gore, but I felt like it was a little on-the-nose. Not nearly as much as Kung Fury, for sure, but it could have been a little more cool about it.

I think it is worth watching but it isn't nearly as good as the first.

World Gone Wild
Another great cheesy 80s post apocalyptic b movie.

Anybody remember the name of the post apocalyptic b movie about farmers. I remember a mom and her male kid, a big goofy blond dude, and the main dark probably brown haired hero who may have been blind? He was some kind of vet from the war that caused the apocalypse. I haven't found the right terms to pop it up on google yet.

>25 or so replies
>no pic related

i want off this ride

Should mention, all the guys in my script have names that in one way or another relate to Sup Forums memes.

Guess which ones.

Repo Man

The Warriors is such a fucking perfect film.

Change them.

I love this era, but I have a complete distaste for this movie. Dunno why.

>the warriors
>80s

Pick one.

They Live
Robocop
Running Man
Blade Runner
Day of the Dead
Salute of the Jugger
The Hitcher

>Wasn't too impressed by EFNY the first time I watched, but I hope a second watch will make it better.

80's movies are not for you, you're wasting your time with the project.

Ìt lacked some gore, in my opinion.

It's boring as fuck.

Lost Boys and Fright Night

>Salute of the Jugger
Do you mean Blood of Heroes??
>Why you do it, Kidda? They kick you, they hurt you.
>I hurt them back.

You'll need Near Dark, too, then.

>Lost Boys and Near Dark

FIFY

Bill Wilson?

There you go.

He's actually sort of the Morpheus of the story, a low-level leader of a gang in a city full of gangs (think Warriors). Wants to use the MC as his superweapon, an enforcer so people know not to fuck with him.

Really? I was hooked on the film as soon as I heard "CAN YOU DIG IIIIT?!"

A second watch improved it. The first time I think I was just tired and disappointed by the action. Now I see that the worldbuilding was more the focus.

He get to bring friends?

Heard this a couple times, only thing I know about it is some sort of green glowing car.

I'll check it out.

He doesn't bring many friends.

Besides the baneposting, your project sounds awesome.
What are using to film and record audio?

I've got a Canon 70D, and I'm working on getting a cheap Rode mic.

I've never done anything more professional than a couple of shorts for a class (see below, second one is a rough cut so the audio's ass) but I'm looking to get all my friends together and make this a real professional looking production.

Fantastic. Godspeed, user.

Much obliged.

Okay watching The Warriors right now and the bathroom fight in it reminded me of the bathroom fight in The World's End.

Not bad. Really liked the girl in it.
But I prefered Hobo w/ a Shotgun.

Hey user. You're the guy from the FMG last week. Good luck on your short.
Is the script done? If so, when's filming? You should totally provide updates.

Coincidently OP, I too have been constructions an 80s inspired film.
Warriors meets Faster Pussycat Kill Kill.
