Can we all agree that "why so serious" is a stupid tagline and a stupid catchphrase? I was 16 when this movie came out and everyone at school thought it was THE COOLEST AND MOST BADASS THING EVER SAID. Everyone thought it was so cool and dark and scary like hearing him say it changed their lives forvever.

Sorry to hear that

Worst part about this shit was everyone dressing up like The Joker

>trying too hard to fit in: The Post

I prefer 'let's put a smile on that face'

i've held this opinion since 2008, fucker, and i've only been browsing Sup Forums for like 3 months.

I was 16 too but the difference is I knew heath did a great performance and no amount of goofy bitches putting on joker makeup will ruin that for me.

The inflection with which he delivers his lines is really fucking good, the scene where he calls Gyllenhal beauitufl(haha get it hes the joker) that short grumbling "and you are beautiful.." was fairly terrifying

and "why so serious" is a great tagline because it's from the viewpoint of a kid being told this by his abusive alcoholic father who was questioning the fear in his son eyes

but thinking is hard. right?

This post was designed to attract everyone with autism.

I have autism!

that is much better in every way.
thanks for the sympathy. even as an edgy 16 year old i thought this movie was overrated.

I still see fat spreglords doing this on Halloween and it's pretty sad

really bad bait. some of the worst i've seen this week.
slightly better bait.

>it's from the viewpoint of a kid being told this by his abusive alcoholic father who was questioning the fear in his son eyes
The Joker made that up, though

>the line is retarded but it has proper context so that makes it ok

[Heavy breathing]

yeah and lines from bergman films are nonsense without context but I remember I'm on Sup Forums and you're just anal faggots who prefer arguing to discourse

still, gave my opinion thats what matters

No, your opinion does not matter.

welcome to capeshit

at least it was a decent capeshit, leagues above all the crap that comes out now

it's just a cringeworthy phrase after a few years

Superheroes and villains often have silly catchphrases.
The Dark Knight is still as silly comic book film at heart despite what some people seem to think.

>There will never be capeshit as good as TDK ever again.
Nothing comes close and all capeshit is terrible.

I had to write movie review in the style of a newspaper article for what was essentially a Microsoft Office class in my freshman year of high school, and that's exactly what I wrote about. It's not some fucking masterpiece; it's just a silly superhero movie.

How did the class take it?

edgy teens say it because they want to be like their hero Heath. even as an edgy teen i rolled my eyes every time i heard it.
sure, but this shit is just cringeworthy. the shit Jack said in the 89 movie was silly too but in a "oh Jack, you're a goofball, but we love you" kind of way.

We didn't have to share them or anything, but my fat sperg of a teacher seemed annoyed with it.

>tfw browsing Sup Forums the night that The Dark Knight premiered and discussing theories of Harvey Dent surviving his fall and who would be recast as the Joker
>tfw that was 8 years ago already

It was probably badly written with juvenile point of views and unnecessary memespeech.

OP here. i bet they crucified him for giving his honest thoughts on their precious kino. that's what happened to me. i still had 2 years of high school left so until i graduated i didn't hear the fucking end of it and was happy to get away from all of those fuckers. i still groan when someone mentions that movie or when it's on tv.

It wasn't, though. My only real skill in this world is academic writing, which sucks because academia is a horseshit institution.

>sure, but this shit is just cringeworthy

The Dark Knight had pretty terrible dialogue in general. Again, it was on par with a comic book, none of the characters speak naturally like actual human beings.

>none of the characters speak naturally like actual human beings.
Sounds like it's on par with a typical Nolan movie.

I agree

>he takes the knife to me, laughing while he does it

literal edgy teenager tier dialogue. In fact just about all of his dialogue was the definition of pic related.

couldn't have said it better myself.

so you admit that you're new

This is also true. I get the impression that Nolan bases the way he writes dalogue on how characters interact in old 50s-60s films instead of how people interact in real life. There is this certain artificial hamminess to his characters, like they don't so much have dialogue with each but monologue while other characters just so happen to be present.

yeah, i'm pretty new. not sure how that means anything.

It means everything, faggot. If you weren't here before 2008, there's no possible way you can ever contribute anything good here.

truly amazing to think that both of these discussion points got memed out of existence
>tfw "Harvey Dent was my friend" literally a minute before big guy scene
>tfw jared leto is recast as the joker

but i'm hip with all the dank memes, bro.

I know right, The Dark Knight film was one of the things that lauched the internet era. Crazy it was eight years ago and it's still the most revolutionary capefilm, even despite super hero movies being in now.

>tennagers contrary opinion circlejerk: the thread

Holy shit this is so true, how haven't i noticed this before?

...

No. The most revolutionary cape movie is Superman: The Movie because it's the first thing that actually got everyone, even non comic book nerds, to take this shit seriously. It was the defining moment of "it's not just for kids anymore."

I meant the most revolutionary capefilm since it's release you correcting autist.

Kek you're such a huge fucking loser. Disliking a genuinely good movie just because it's popular, thinking it made you patrician while your "pleb" classmates with happy lives looked down on you even more for your contrarian behaviour. Kekking at ur life m8, you're not gonna find the approval you craved but didn't get 10 years ago here.

>posts reinforcing their projected insecurities about "le so edgy" faggotry from browsing too much r/cringe

bad bait.

>>posts reinforcing their projected insecurities about "le so edgy" faggotry from browsing too much r/cringe
Lmao the thing is that you're actually right af
This whole thread is cringy

There was literally no way for anyone to get your meaning with that post.

>the quality of this bait

This is pure autism. Try harder.

>points out cringe edgy teen dialogue
>LEL PROJECTING INSECURITIES

>try harder
to stomach bait that bad?

You're so up your own ass that you think your autistic contarianism is actually built on intellectual merit when actually, it's just a bunch of inchorent buzzwords that you learned on reddit.com/r/cringe. Of course that place was the only way you could ever gain a mere OUNCE of social awareness because If it weren't for that you would be embarrassing yourself by the landfold in social life. You think you know what it means to be a "normal functioning human" so you project these buzzword riddled insecurities about "edginessXD" to film """"""""criticism""""""".

Calling everything that contradicts your way of thinking "bait" will not make you look right.

You are just embarrassing yourself. You can stop posting anytime soon.

You keep mentioning specific reddit boards like someone who goes there.

>2016
>using the reddit quotes

Not an argument

you sound upset. are you upset because i shared my thoughts on something, user? do you like the edgy teen dialogue and take offense when i call it that?

Why would I try to argue with such obvious bait?

Jesus Christ MODS delete this thread already. Everybody in here should kill themselves.

>this thread
Sup Forums was a mistake

you sound like you want to talk.

>my thoughts
You mean insecure projections and exaggerated meme speak?
Lmao stay mad closeted edgy cuck

you sound like you're upset. i don't want you to be upset, user. i want you to be happy.

>stupid tagline
Do you realize that it's not the line itself that was praised but the delivery by heath ledger? Do you have autism?

classic image.jpg
>insecure projections and exaggerated meme speak
>stay mad closeted edgy cuck
You either have a great sense of irony, or none at all.

also bad bait.

>cringy cuck posting on 2 different devices on damage control

I rest my case tbqh

Is that OP or something
No wonder he's so quick to call everything edgy. He hates what he did and just wants to fit in smdh

bad bait. not biting.
I ain't watching that shit. I can feel the cringe coming out of my screen just from that thumbnail.

(You)

just watch it pussy

This:It's not just a tagline, it's a phrase that is repeatedly brought up in his dialogue. When he's telling the story of how he became so fucked up you know. The delivery and context make it unsettling.

You mean the made up story?

Nice blog

I agree, DC can't quip, they should leave it to Marvel instead of desperately trying to copy it, dark knight was for edgy teenagers
