I had one of those. WTF?

I was 2 at the time, so crying and shitting myself most likely

i was right here on Sup Forums

still remember all the episode I threads

This tbqhwyfam.

Watching WWF and playing on my N64

lel I loved this "toy"

in 1st grade eating green star wars fruit roll ups

Getting stuck on the third dungeon in zelda for like 2 years because I was (am) fucking dumb

i was just turning one LOL

Sup Forums went pretty far downhill after 1997, honestly.

>Jar Jar can't resist appetite
>Padme can't resist curiosity
>can't resist
>can't resist

What the fuck?

I was 6 so doing whatever the fuck 6 year olds do idk my memory is terrible

anyone buy any of these?

I joined the army at 17 1/2 in 1999 because lol the Soviet Union is gone so we're not going to get into a big war.

ah the year i retired, turned 65

>Jar Jar can't resist appetite
>Padme can't resist curiosity
>Jar Jar has a long tongue
What did Lucas mean by this?

I had one of those with George lucas' head

that wasn't a candy
that was actually george lucas

emilia clarke to star in Episode 1 controversial remake

Holy fuck that must hav been awesome to witness.

Anyway we can view those archive threads?

I was 5 years old. I vaguely remember the hype. It's very patchy, but I do remember things like promotional sodas and children's books yet I don't even remember watching the movie the first time.

Advertising is pretty powerful to young people.

I was a freshman in high school, and this was the first and only time I waited in line for a midnight premier.

I was not happy.

In have a star wars collector watch.

Me too

Sup Forums BBS didn't have any archives.

I remember watching it over and over. Tis was my fav childhood movie.

>sorry but 5 year olds did not critisice every single thing as we do now

Someone posted some Sup Forums @AOL screencaps awhile ago. It was hilarious.

I was at kindergarten and stealing legos

90s Sup Forums was the best. Before all these newfags showed up.

>Where were you in 1999?

Well damnit... ;_; wanted to see some 90s threads but fuck to spend over 18 years on this site?

I always wanted one of the cool ones like Qui Gon and the Battle Droid but all I ever got was lame JarJar and C3PO toys

Collecting all 150 Pokemon Fruit Roll Up wrappers

I remember the ads with the Taco Bell dog and Colonel Sanders running around the grassy battlefield with light sabers and shit. I always thought that should have been the story instead.

Is Han Solo supposed to look like he's farting into a sign that says, "the line farts here"?

Yes

At around this time id have been pretty smug, was doing well at college, had a social life, a hot gf and a decent part time job...if you asked me this in june i would have told you i was drunk.... it was june when the ot gf admitted she lied about taking the pill and i was gonna be a dad but not to worry because she was leaving me and only wanted me to pay child support while i got on with the rest of my life, so considerate of her....dropped out of college...got into drugs....got into drink...became a recluse, lost my friends, lost my future, lost hope.

now i have a headache.

>ywn spend 8 hours in a line talking about star wars with other overweight, pre-9/11 star wars fans

feels bad man

playing tibia

I ate at all three places to collect the complete set

I was outside.

The smell was horrible. I don't think my friend left once to shower and he was in a fucking stormtrooper costume for a week.

When they say you're here forever, they're not kidding.

I remember going to Toys R Us before school on the day the figures were released. I think this was even before the movie was released so I was buying figures purely based on what looked cool in the trailers. Still have them in storage somewhere along with those talking voice chip things.

is jar jar giving himself the succ in front of the pizza hut logo?

>be 16 in 1999
>go out on new year
>make out with 3 girls

One of the best nights of my life.

Seeing this movie in theaters, being bored out of my mind, not understand anything that was happening in the movie, thinking Jar Jar Binks was the only thing that was kinda interesting / funny

>pre-9/11 star wars fans

you'd think they would go up in value over time.

fact is all episode 1 merch is worthless. they produced too much. a year after it came out everything was on clearance.

>if I were to let you suck my tongue, would you be grateful?

Everything changed after 9/11. Even fandoms.

Tell me more laddie

The Sup Forums livethreads for 9/11 were fucking nuts. That's where 90's Sup Forums truly died, though.

Episode 1 came out in 1999, though, which is when half the fandom stopped caring.

Working at Pepsi, wondering how awesome the naughties would be.

*noughties

Being a 6 year old little shit with barerly any knowledge of Star Wars outside the basic pop culture stuff, and a shit load of LEGO

I do remember my dad going to a midnight screening with a bunch of work buddies.

I'm young and ignorant, fucking off and making my first steps towards criminal life. I'm also going to fuck up my first chance to fuck a girl I started dating because I was awkward and didn't know how to transition from making out. I'm going to get into serious trouble and kicked out of school.

Not 1999 but I remember in 2002, my brother got a bootleg dvd copy of attack of the clones before it was officially released.

I was like 7 then and was my first time seeing a bootleg that was recorded in the cinema.

>Working at Pepsi

nice

My first bootleg was Spider-Man 1 the same year. I was 12 and it blew my mind. The movie had Chinese subs in it.

>newfigs who haven't been here since '93

git gud, rebbit

I was in college. I went to see this with some friends. I remember thinking that star wars really is for kids, and that this was the guy who made Howard the Duck.
Still better than JJ

Yes, working in a dusty warehouse for $10/hr was great.

I was only 1 year old (born in 1998) and so I wasn't doing very much. Wish I could've grown up in the 90's, to see what it was like.

Check the rules, dumbshit. 18+ only.

lrn2math

Trying to figure out why I wasted so much money on laserdiscs.

I imagine American high schools now are just filled with "security" bureaucracy, police officers, and related shit with all the shootings in the news now and "terror threats" etc.

It was starting to get like that in the early 2000s if you went to a large high school, but I bet it's gotten strict as fuck by now.

My dad died in January of 1999 and I completely changed friend groups because they were all shitters after my dad kicked. I started dating my long term hs girlfriend then (which was a mistake in hindsight because I missed a lot of casual dating opportunities) and started smoking a lot of DUDE WEED LMAO. I dunno, 99 kinda sucked but I bought into TPM hard when it came out

>fact is all episode 1 merch is worthless

As they should be. Fucking toy collectors

i think i was here around 2003 a few times, i used to be freaked out at gore and racism threads

I was 15 then. I was jacking off to porn & playing mage storm.

also anybody born in '98 or '99 should end their lives. thanks..

>yfw there are people born after the year 2000 posting on this very board right now

>people born in '98 literally post here

>they produced too much

Ain't that the truth. So many action figures of worthless background characters.

Apparently pizza hut was giving out free crack pipes back then.

I take it this is you.

except the main difference there is that those are the original kenner collection. Easily worth thousands of dollars.

In my dad's ball sack

I had an early morning paper route which gave me access to about 40-90 newspapers every morning; I often read the funnies and the editorials.

Shortly before Episode 1 came out, I realized that every two-pound Sunday paper contained an insert with (wait for it...) Episode 1 pogs, marketed as "game medallions" for Yum! Brands fast food places (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell). I proceeded to rip off every single insert from every single paper, and for my theft, I was rewarded with several dozen Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace pogs, of which five are duplicate Jar Jar Binks #11 pieces. IIRC certain of these pieces could be traded for food, and so I got some tendies at KFC two or three times, not wanting to exhaust unique instances of whatever Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace pogs I had. They sit in three 4x5 pog-collector sheets in a binder, to this very day.

I was 9. I remember going to Winchester with my dad and him buying me Episode 1 Pod Racer for N64 and I took out the box in McDonalds and had that sense of anticipation and excitement and was really looking forward to playing it

>being still being teenagers
Oh my god this is fucking disgusting. I share a board with kids. I feel ill.
