Never unfortunately. Not atractive enough for your average normie/amerifat audiences:
>grimdark
>no clear good guys
>R rated for sure
>there is some irony in the setting, but not nearly enough quips.
>humanity is racist & kinda religious

There are of course bigass tank, space marines, chainswords and such, but it would require showing humanity as a "good guys" therefor missing the point of this setting.

Unfortunately it's too big to adapt
Unless they focus on 1 group and that doesn't really fly with the 40k universe since the big grim dark future and different factions fuels the big ass action pieces.

It's not too big to adapt, but I feel that it will never succeed on an indie budget.

40k is one of the few movies that really desperately needs a AAA wallet to be made into anything good.

But we got a 40k movie.

Do you really want ANOTHER one?

Never ever, cause GW would never relinquish creative control to a movie studio.

I want a different one

>40k

i want a better one

But just look at Games Workshop now: they haven't changed their perspective on big companies, and after Warhammer Online, I'd say it's gotten even worse. If another 40k movie happens, it's going to be another small studio, possibly one made by GW themselves, that will push out another Ultramarines.

The Emperor IS the good guy. Mankind has just lost its way again since he retreated into the golden throne.

You know, you're right, but really I'd settle for like slightly better CGI and a story that focuses on literally anything but the Ultramarines. Maybe a retelling of the Horus Heresy or just a movie about the Blood Angels or pretty much any chapter other than the Ultramarines, I dunno I just find the Ultramarines relatively bland, but I guess they're the chapter you can almost come closest to maybe possibly slightly selling them as almost heroic for small stretches of time

Horus Heresy movie would be my fav, 10 out of 10. But that's never suppose to be told. Just like the Emperor's actual name.

The Emperor is the collective reincarnation of all the shamans of Neolithic humanity's various peoples, the first human psykers. In the end, the shamans decided to pool their collective psychic energies by reincarnating as a single soul in a single human body to create an individual they called "the New Man."

>no good guys
Get a load if this heretic

a movie with zero token female or token black guys? and religious humans fighting against demons? the kike council of hollywood would never allow it

Warhammer is just too abstract to put into any kind of linear narrative. The concept of the Emperor, who and what he is, what he has done and how and why he did it, etc. If you ever pin one particular motive or origin story down as factual it will destroy the very appeal of the mythology. The best we can get are little microcosm movies like the Ultramarines one where we get small referential bits to the greater lore of the Warhammer universe - which is alright - because in this day and age it's ok to mix mediums to build a universe the scale of what GW has created. Not everything has to be bridged to normies in order to be somehow validated. It's for weirdoes that like to use their own imagination in how the ancient events that shaped the current state of mankind and the universe went down.

I will never be as satisfied by a movie showing the Emperor wrecking shit than how I imagine it abstractly in my mind.

Fucking normies.

I....I....

You know what? I'm used to Sup Forums plebes being complete unwashed troglodytes; unable to spell, understand that "kino" means "movie theater", think that superhero films are some new trend when they've been made every year since the 1920's... I don't expect much.

You, good sir, prove yourself an exception.

>tfw no full length kino by the guys who did this youtube.com/watch?v=N_ZgyNoHtjw

There's already a Warcraft movie coming out, why do we need its shameless ripoff franchise again?

You do know you've got that backwards, right? There would be no Warcraft without Warhamer.

I honestly think a miniseries would be great if it followed a group of guardsmen on an outlying planet. There would be some that are very religious in the Imperial Cult but of course some weary ones that are more cynical and secular, perhaps it could be a world that gets invaded and then intervened by space marines so you could see all of these terrifying monsters and powerful inhuman fighters from the eyes of a relatively normal group of humans. I don't know but I think something like that could work very well.

End your existance

jesus fucking christ, please don't start this discussion again

"there would be no warcraft without warhammer"
"there would be no warhammer without tolkien"
"there would be no tolkien without norse mythology"
"there would be no norse mythology without germanic mythology"

and on and on it goes. orcs goblin demons unicorns elfs dwarfs, these aren't exactly modern concepts invented by 1 person

There's way too much lore to just drop a moviegoer into it at some point on the timeline. They'd spend half the film introducing you to everything.

Series would work way better imo

Dawn of War I opening was like 10times better.
This is just random units killing each other in some fog with some edgy voice in the background. There is no real feeling of a battle going on.

Compare it to this where a battlefield is presented with opposing forces and clear objective.

...

it's not like "big bad orks" and "evil demons" are unique concepts

It isn't a discussion. This is common fact. How can you not know that's where Blizzard's designs come from?

because the concept of wizards and orcs and demons predates Christianity you fucking retard

Oh, it's another "cast all the primarchs" thread? Okay, I'll start:
Perturabo

If they shave off all the history and just make them "The Big Bad Orks and Demons" then the actual fans, and probably Sup Forums, will just take a massive shit on it.

I'd be happy to see a full CG movie rather than live action, with better animation than what we see in most of the 40k game cinematics.

fuck 40k, give me Gotrek & Felix or Mathias Thulmann series

Never, because thankfully, there aren't enough turbo autists out there to support a big budget adaption of this unappealing drek.

>warhammer 40k movie
>female imperial guard wants to become a space mureen realy bad
>space mureens laugh at her
>police academy 80s montage comedy ensues
>proves herself by taking down a million tyranids alone
>initated into space mureens
>leads the final battle against the evil orks and their leader who is a white male who betrayed the empire for being too inclusive
>female space mureen saves the day
>becomes the emperor of feman
>all the aliens of the galaxy are made equal

This. It's too massive in scale for a singular medium to compound.

Imagine an actor playing the Emperor. It's preposterous. The part is uncastable. You just can't compress the ridiculousness that makes Warhammer 40k what it is into some shit movie "franchise" or "cinematic universe" or whatever. It's not meant to be fed to you. It caters to your own imagination. It depends on it.

I would be ok with low-budget tv-series about arbittress in the hive for start.

I can already see the We wuz Kangz faction coming out of the woodworks and complain why the emperor isn't their favorite color of shitskin.

never

You dweebs always blame "normies" , but its probably that your toy soldier game is childish, bloated unfocused and the material is so atrociously conceived and written it's only good for the fanfic they put in your source books.

Only Prime Arnold would have been good enough. It would had to have been a silent movie.

Jaghatai Khan

But the emperor was from anatolia

I think Warcraft is currently illustrating that it cannot be done. Though they might JUST squeeze by due to the tongue in cheek nature of their "universe". Warhammer would never translate to film however.

Even Marvel and DCU or whatever are ongoingly showcasing the diminishing return of quality that comes with translating their long existing works to the silver screen.

It's fucking lazy to want to be spoonfed everything. Some things don't originate in the Sup Forums medium for a reason.

>unfortunately
I think you mean "fortunately"
this

WRONG, you not seen how many warhammer games are out this year?

>Warhammer 40k movie
>Niche setting
>not well known between normies
>Need huge amount of money for cg, costumes and sets
>Story total clusterfuck
I would say NEVER, i think this is right estimate.

I wish the Emperor was real bros :(

I'm all aboard with this, humble band of brothers type miniseries

No need to go full retard on the mythology right from the beginning, just tell a good story about some interesting characters

How could people relate to a space marines? They can't, but people can understand simple imperial guardsmen

The setting would be rich and engaging, the wh40k universe is a really interesting setting. But you don't have to drop your characters in the middle of a huge story, just let them be a small part of a bigger story, hell that makes more sense if we're talking about the rank and file regular guys anyway

Nigger it's Jews running Hollywood not fatties

>tfw I got a genuine nostalgia lump in my throat when the warhounds run in and fuck everything up in the DoWIII trailer

A 40k film would be the most fun I'd probably ever have in the cinema but I don't see it happening unless stuff like Warcraft makes a shitload of money and studios gamble on it.

>I....I....
>You, good sir, prove yourself an exception.
Fuck off back to plebbit, nigger

>The Emperor is the collective reincarnation of all the shamans of Neolithic humanity's various peoples,

Wut?????

Once upon a time, Stanley Kubrick toyed with the idea of adapting the Inquisition War trilogy. Fapping to the idea of this is infinitely better than seeing Hollywood make a misunderstood PC mess out of 40K.

Also, ULTRAMEHREENS sucked so much that even GW cannot be trusted to make one.

1000 psykers every day to power the golden throne. The God Emperor is more of an idea.

You know what that guys name was? Did He ever have a name?

Seems real to me.

I am surprised no one has thought a 40k movie would make money. even a 10 mil budget is small, put would make money.

>Once upon a time, Stanley Kubrick toyed with the idea of adapting the Inquisition War trilogy
I need a proof of this

/thread

fags think this warhammer crap has some merit because they played it for so long, but it was childish crap based on two good books and still stayed that way.

Eldar girl rescued on a mission across space to warn a craftworld/the Imperium about an incoming massive chaos incursion, attacked by chaos and narrowly escapes in a small craft with no hope of surviving, passes out/hallucinates like in Gravity, wakes up on a small Kroozer looking at three adventurous/hilarious orks who are looting her shit, convinces the orks to help her deliver the message to save the galaxy as they encounter a number of 40k's threats and are pursued by space marines hellbent on destroying the dirty xenos.

Heartwarming road trip movie in the grim darkness of the 41st Millenium- call it Boyz.

He will be soon, user

>I wish the Emperor was real bros :(
He already is and he is purging the orcish scum as we speak, however the chaos in burgeria still poses a threat.

>yes it is 9gag, suck my dick

Keked hard at this. He is full of shit, you know? Why do poltards masturbate at him?
*user from russia*

>How could people relate to a space marines?
You don't have to relate to something in order to like it.

The faggot has spoken.
And by faggot I mean you.
