It was an unfinished piece of shit on arrival and it soured everybody's taste for anything to do with the entry.
It's really fucking bad, that's what's wrong with it.
I got into it just before Black Flag and waited for the price to drop on that one. After seeing bad reviews, pay to win dlc shit, and just buggy gameplay; I never bothered with Unity. It seemed like a rushed mess. Sad because I dug the story and settings of the games.
Also just Ubisoft with its companion app using real money to buy keys for chests and rewards in game sounded like utter bullshit, game cancer. As soon as I heard about that, I was done.
