Easy one. Orson Welles – Citizen Kane.

Malick, Badlands

fallen angels is actually perfect

Sergio Leone
Once Upon a Time in America

true

Mario Bava - Lisa and the Devil

Once Upon a Time in the West is better, isn't it?

>Charlie Chaplin
>The Gold Rush

far better

Sir Christopher Jonathan James Nolan

Snyder
Man of Steel

no

yes

Terry Gilliam - 12 Monkeys.

Todd Haynes - Safe and Poison

I don't really like his other films, but those two remain high impact for me.

Second choice would be Gaspar Noe.

Of course, Irreversible and Enter the Void. Haven't got around to Here I Stand. Thanks in advance to all those who continue to suggest that I watch it.

I've got In The Mood For Love and Chungking Express at home. Which should I watch first?

Chungking Express

Chungking Express Kar Wai Wong

California dreamiiiiiiiiiiin'

>Fincher
My brain says Zodiac, but my heart says Social Network

Korine. Gummo.
I saw it the year it came out and it was a very effective and unique experience that no film has matched yet.

Lost Highway (David Lynch)

How is it not In The Mood For Love?

Don't know what I missed but I was really disappointed with Chungking Express

Wong Kar-Wai made some really good movies.

Captcha: 2096, well close enough.

Zerkalo (Andrei Tarkovsky)

>Krzystof Kieslowski
>A Short Film About Love

This is true.

What a masterpiece, I really wish the four+ hour cut would be made available. The only film longer than 3 hours that I wasn't bored by.

I watched it yesterday and didn't understand shit .

Wong Kar Wai
Happy Together

What confused you?

If you've seen The Tree of Life (which is Malick's best, btw) it's a very similar story.

Coen Brothers - Barton Fink

Richard Linklater - Slacker

How many different stories were there in the film?

Post your favourite animated films.

Really just one, except for that little side story about the orphaned ginger kid. The main guy looks back on his life as a child with his mother, and we also see the life of his child and his mother, they're just played by the same actors. I think Tark used the same actors for both sets of characters because he wanted to highlight how cyclical life can be.

>Andrei Tarkovsky
Why did this cunt have to make all of his movies somehow scary?

What? None of his films are scary.

There's a couple tense scenes in Stalker and Solaris, and a single jump scare in Ivan.
