you could turn that around, depending on your criteria. the film was epic as fuck, the whole concept, sets, corsumes, music, everything was glorious and otherworldly. but it was shallow as fuck. the series was goofy and relatively low-budget and could never recapture that grandeur, but it more than made up for that with a more complex universe and GOAT humor and character dynamics. i can't say which i prefer.
that said, i can't wait to see the first option on the big screen again.
