Why are you so thin?
The most important part and the one that produces almost all of the GDP is the interoceanic region (Around the canal):
>Provinces of Panamá, Colón, and Panamá Oeste.
>The canal.
>Logistic hub (Ports in both oceans, Train that connects both ports, Highway that connects both oceans)
>Hub de las Americas (Aeropuerto de Tocument, home of Copa Airlines)
>Financial services (Financial center with more than 90 banks)
>Only mayor city in the country (Ciudad de Panamá)
>More than half of the population lives here.
Coclé:
>Cool province with somewhat mountainous regions and nice beaches.
>Penonomé is the capital of the province with somewhat cool weather.
>Antón is near the beaches. The Valle de Antón is a small town with a mountainous weather.
>Natá and Aguadulce are other important towns in the province.
Azuero:
>Provinces of Herrera and Los Santos are the more Hispanic with a population of mainly European ancestry.
>The economy here is based on livestock.
>Even thought, with the exception of a few towns, life is rural; standards of living are pretty high here.
>Chitré, capital of Herrera, is the biggest city in Azuero.
>La Villa de Los Santos is small town in Los Santos with great historical importance.
>Las Tablas, capital of Los Santos.
>Pedasí is a very touristic town with beautiful beaches.
>Guararé is another interesting town in Los Santos.
Veraguas:
>Only province with two oceans.
>They have mountainous regions.
>They have a lot of livestock going on here.
>It´s capital and largest town is Santiago.
>Second largest town is Soná
>San Francisco de la Montaña is a small town in mountainous Veraguas, with a beautiful baroque church.
Chiriquí:
>Best highlands in the country.
>David, the capital, is one of the biggest towns outside the interoceanic region.
>Some mountain towns include Boquete, Cerro Punta, and Volcán
>They used to have a railroad network, but not anymore.
Boca del Toro:
>They have some of the best beaches.
>Beautiful islands. 10/10 must visit.
>Also used to have a railroad network, but not anymore.
Darien and the comarcas:
>Don not go in here.
>Except for Kuna Yala. The beaches are worth it.
The isthmus of Panamá appeared around 22 million years ago as a result of sediment from the two neighbouring continental masses filling in the gaps between islands. This islands had been originated via volcanic activity in the narrow between North and South America.
That's pretty cool
Do you like that canal we built for you?
Are you guys white?
What is panamenian general opinion on Colombia and the rest of Central America?
Yeah, pretty cool (for its time).
I've been looking it up on several super serious sources and as a matter of fact, South Panama is white and germanic.
Why is Panama a country? Not being a dick or anything, just don't understand the politics of South America and what made you decide to be separate countries as opposed to the Spanish countries sticking together like Brazil did.
>panama
>south american politics
ahem
I am. But most Panamenians are not.
In Panamá, much like in Costa Rica, the amerindians were nearly wiped out. Nowadays, there are more asians than amerindians here. The thing is that when the railrad and the canal were build, a shit ton of blacks came from the antillas. So, there is a important amount of whites, but in the most populous areas the blacks are mayority. In regions like Azero, though, whites are mayority.
Black people here are not as bad. I think it is because they were not brought here as slaves against their will. They came to work as free men.
Pic related is a afropanamenian who is a important member of the scientific comunity here.
>General opinion on Colombia.
Colombia is dangerous.
>Rest of Central America.
With the exception of Costa Rica, it is dangerous.
Yea yea fuck you very much, chango.

Do you want to be united with Colombia or the United States of Central America?
Well, actually, Panamá got its independence from spain in 1821. This by our own means. Panamá feared that since we were (still are) a small country, we would get conquered by spain. So there was the options of been submissive to britain (no one liked that idea), be part of Perú (they had a lot of commerce with us by then, but they were not independent yet), be part of Mexico, or be part of Nueva Granada. Simon Bolivar talk nice about Panamá, so panamenians liked him and we joined Nueva Granada.
In short, Nueva Granada divided into Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. Panamá tried to separet it selfe too in 1920 but failed. There were numerous attempts since Colombia keept having wars and did not allow us to have free trade (which has always been the basis of panamenian economy). We where completely aisolated from Bogotá (going to Lima was easier back then).
So in 1903, since you guys wanted to build a canal and Bogotá would not let you, you decided to help us separate and we would let you build the canal.
Only with Costa Rica.
10% of Bananamanian population is injun.
So you go visiting latinamerican threads to piss people off? kek this guy
Are there chances there will be an Central America (EU-like) Union?
Can black people pass as local in your country?
So you all got your independence at different times? That makes sense why you had more politics keeping you separate countries.
And honestly, the only thing I'm really looking forward to under President Trump is us minding our own fucking business. We've been playing empire for 100 years now and it's not fun anymore and everyone has been fucked over by us at one time or another....
Yeah, thanks to Colombia may I add. Living isolated in the Darien gap in order to escape the drug war over there.
>Bananamanian
but Bananama was a shithole governed by a drug lord. It was thanks to your daddy USA you got rid of him. Still your economy revolves around illegal money.
>Are there chances there will be an Central America (EU-like) Union?
Probably the between Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
>Can black people pass as local in your country?
Yes.
>to your daddy USA

BTW, Guatemala is a beautiful country.

Buko (a galisism that means "a lot")
Bajareque (drizzle)

>And honestly, the only thing I'm really looking forward to under President Trump is us minding our own fucking business. We've been playing empire for 100 years now and it's not fun anymore and everyone has been fucked over by us at one time or another..

Why do you guys consider yourselves southamerican? I mean, I understand all the colonial history behind it, but I don't think you "qualify" geographically to be considered SA
Posting in a Central American thread.
They definitely are not Central American. They don't even use voseo. Also, they were not part of the Central American Republic.
>You basically had a strip of land under the sovereignty of the American government that crossed the country in half. The rest of the country was operated independently of the United States.
>Malaria is still a thing here, but it is mostly under control.
>Yes. No one takes it seriously. Not even Nicaraguans.
Well, look at it this way.
In geography they taught us that Panamá was a country in Central America.
In history they taught us our history, which is more linked to northen Sudamerica than to anything else.
Interesting. Also, I always wondered why your flags do show their respective coat of arms/stars on Sup Forums and Guatemala's don't.
Why do you love Costa Rica so much?
Gracias Chile.
