However I'm biased since I'm from Guanajuato. Really chill place with great food and friendly people. No cartels, so any crimes are just like any other place. The beheading meme is really only if you're fucking with the cartels yourself, so other than that you should be good in most places in Mexico. From what I've seen, Brazil is just crime ridden regardless of who you are. Criminals kill taxi drivers just for a couple of dollars.
