Why do far too many tv shows carry on past their natural ending?

Why do far too many tv shows carry on past their natural ending?

American phenomenon.

I've watched Breaking Bad till end of season 4 and stopped, should I continue watching?

If you want to watch Better Call Saul, you might want to.
Otherwise, you can stop.

This has always been a good example.

Writers strike didn't help either.

buddy, you're far from the truth if you think that season 4 was the natural ending of breaking bad

Aside from the dumb laptop subplot (which was clearly thrown in just as a season hook). it was the natural ending

I would say yes. It's not as good as season 4 but ultimately we get an ending that is better than most series finales are

>a show that knew when to stop

this

wouldve been a shit ending, way worse than S5

It could have easily though. They just designed it so it would need to go on.

season 2 was a mistake

Wrong show to use OP. There were some problems with s5, but overall it was good and wrapped most everything up.

Here's a couple shows that REALLY went on too long, I'm talking multiple seasons too long.

Weeds - Everything after season 3 (I think) when they leave the suburbs or whatever was shit, 5 more seasons.
Sons of Anarchy - Season 7 was literally a comedy, got really bad.

>Sons of Anarchy - Season 7 was literally a comedy, got really bad.
What do you mean? It was so hard to watch season 7 because it was just too dark and we literally could not root for them anymore. It was the only season we saw the Sons for what they were, literal scumbag criminals.

Though I will say the first three seasons are GOAT and pic related was the best "villain"

House was a good example too.

It should have ended with the Mental Hospital episodes.

>didnt end before the granny mafia

You're so fucking dead on about weeds

What I mean is that it was just so comically bad that I only watched it for laughs at that point and couldn't take the story seriously anymore.

That being said you're right, they weren't really a lovable crew of ragtag bikers vs the world anymore by season 7.

Oh man though, the final scene of the series with Jax doing the "jesus take the wheel" bit. I laughed way too hard.

you

I had so many hopes.

I mean it still had some positives even in the later seasons - Doug and Andy were still mostly funny but the plot my god.

The season they're on the road chasing the half mexican kid that no one cares about, or when you find she's got 3 fucking kids by 3 different dudes. So edgy Shane episodes.

The only good thing to come out of the last season of Weeds was the Doug sex cult thing.

>I won
>THE END
woah, that's it? well nah fuck you kid, season 5 was cool af BITCH! haha

...

I thought the season when they were in NY wasn't bad, kinda got back to their roots.

>Oh man though, the final scene of the series with Jax doing the "jesus take the wheel" bit. I laughed way too hard.
Lel. Yeah that finale was a little too much. I think Kurt Sutter was completely ungrounded during the second half of the show.
I understand what he was going for, and it was entertaining but it was very weird. And he could stand to learn a thing or two about subtlety.

How's middle school?

WHO DID THIS TO HER

Agree, it still did end pretty good just too much shit in between
