Axl Smith arrived to the Helsinki district court yesterday, Wednesday, to face allegations that he used hidden cameras in his bedroom to record sex acts.
In prior hearings the presenter has said he recorded the material in order to secure his own safety and prove his innocence, in case he was charged of sexual crimes such as rape.
He recorded sleeping with 126 different women but onto 32 are going to court.

He should be able to film his own home to insure his safety and that he had gotten consent from anyone he's brought home. He should have finessed it, honesty is the best policy, get them on video with sound after they enter into his apartment. Say something like "My apartment is recorded for security/surveillance, are you okay with that?" Most women won't care.

In the year 2017, with our current level of technology, that's not really creepy or out of the norm but he definitely should have gotten consent to record them or at least let them know they were on camera once they entered his home.

Maybe if you're over 30 but people filming their sex lives is not out of the norm these days. At least in the sense of taking out your phone and filming it. I won't call that act common, or appropriate (particularly for underage people) but it's not strange or creepy or not normal.
If some one has a hidden camera, yes, but even then I think his only mistake was not mentioning it. Society has placed a lot of weight on men making sure they have consent for sex now and i don't blame him for filming it's just that he also should have gotten consent to film the bed (or couch) they were sexing on as well.
