Tell me about the confederate flag, Americans. How is it viewed? Is it considered a redneck thing?
Tell me about the confederate flag, Americans. How is it viewed? Is it considered a redneck thing?
some rednecks still have it on their house in the Deep South, surprising.
It's a pretty well designed flag desu. It's only flown by retards. I've never met someone who flew it who wasn't retarded. If someone argues against this, they are unironically retarded.
it's like a combo of the religious flags in baghdad and anarchist flags on college campuses; it shows your pride in your identity and also shows that you hate the system
people in rural ontario sometimes put them on their trucks
The south will rise again
does that mean that you'll burrow into the ground
Yes
Exactly what I meant.
This kid is a literal retard.
He means well
That's not the flag of the Confederate States though.
There's nothing wrong with thme flag itself and being proud of it, the problem is because of its past people want to distance themselves from it and the peopl with these flags tend to be dumb hicks/racists. They gave it a bad name
confettis were so cuck that they had to use somalian flag as a state flag lmao
It doesn't offend me but people still fly it as an obvious indication of racism, like when it's flown on government buildings and property.
Don't really care about people using it for personal use, it's a very mixed bag of reasons. Some use it as a symbol of southern pride (plenty of black southerners love the flag, plenty hate it as well), other use it for reasons of exclusion or supremacy. I guess a few crazies still think the south should secede and fly it for that reason.
It's a very divisive image. Some people simply consider it the heritage of the southern states, other people think that it represents the slavery and oppression of the black workers in the South, and yet others just acknowledge it as the flag of the rebellion and consider it inappropriate since the South lost.
I'd say most consider it a redneck thing since it's mostly used by either white pride groups or 'redneck-y' organizations in the south.
Why do rednecks keep using the battle standard and not the real flag?
You are fucked in the head. Emus were too merciful.
It's definitely a redneck thing, you only ever seen it flown on trucks or in rural areas.
They don't know any better.
What are some comfy towns in Georgia or TN?
t. not OP
It causes a severe amount of arsepain, so I'm a fan.
Settle down, Zhang
The battle standard looks better and has more symbolism behind it because that was the actual flag the rebels flew and fought under.
Just find a town that is mostly white.
Georgia is a better state IMO too.
I just wanna check out some nice places in street view. Looking at Sandersville right now, its pretty decent.
Only flown by rednecks or in historical cities. It's actually quite charming to see it in Charleston on Savannah
I still fly it in my basement
""""Fly""""
Fuck Lincoln for defending niggers.
Reminder that "Robert E. Lee day" was 3 days ago
Some southern football fans use it here

Its southern heritage
Also you hardly see the flag alone it is usually accompanied by the US and Texas flag and some more.
Part of our history, honorable, not racist, no racist intent. 1/3 of Texas stayed Blue, 2/3 grey.
About as common as the LGBT rainbow flag.
However, Lone Star Flag is what we honor as equal to USA national flag, at equal height. Only state in the Union where that is true.
Not necessarily true in Texas. Just southern fried pride kids.
>If someone argues against this, they are unironically retarded.
>anyone who disagrees with me is retarded
is this bait, meme or is this user really that silly?
>slavics
>romanics

Even conservatives are starting to distance themselves from the flag.
If you see it flying from the back of a pickup, uneducated, racist hick usually. Lots of people do it for a Southern culture thing, however, since there's not much else to rally behind, which is a natural reaction when the rest of the country continues to talk shit about you nonstop for decades. The country's changed so incredibly fast in 60-70 years I can't blame those people for sticking to it.
There was a big thing in the papers last summer about HIFK fans having this "nazi party" banner that turned out to be there because of some Nice fans coming for a visit for some reason.
North v south is so old school, the new culture war is California v Texas.

It's a red flag, both literally and metaphorically.
Only gay liberals and black people hate it.
It's a symbol of southern heritage.
Southern heritage involves slavery, jim crow, and general racism. Also treason. For some reason some people fly it in Michigan even though we were one of the most antagonistic states towards the south leading up to the war. We literally defied federal law so they couldn't get their slaves back.

>Just one-in-ten Americans (9%) have a positive reaction when they see the Confederate flag displayed. Fewer than a third (30%) have a negative reaction, though. A 58%-majority say they have neither a positive or negative reaction when seeing the Confederate flag.
loser flag
not alot of people have it but you see it every now and then
its only considered racist by liberals, alot of people just think its kind of cool or edgy to have
even some blacks have it
kek I didn't know that.
Nice fans are officialy apolitical but in fact most of them are pretty right wing, which is not surprising since the city is a right wing stronghold
>How is it viewed?
Not well.
>Is it considered a redneck thing?
More of a racist thing.
>inb4 muh I once saw a black guy driving with a CSA bumper-sticker
Finally so nice to see muh anecdote fags getting BTFO.
Depends on where you're from on how it's viewed. I live in Northern Missouri and it's not odd whatsoever to see one driving around, and they get more common the further South you go.
Everyone I've talked to who flies the flag does it to either piss off liberals or show their support for state autonomy. Definitely considered a redneck thing by the northerners, but so is PBR and town pops below 1k so I couldn't give less of a shit.
>PBR
>a beer brewed in Wisconsin using unionized labor
>a redneck thing
But they both suck.
That guy is a retard. PBR is a hipster thing.
He should've been shot
not even just in south. in upstate new york, have seen it flying on some peoples trucks
I don't really know how it is outside of the South but it is widely considered a redneck thing here. The hipster thing is a meme I never really got.
Went to Canada last summer though and was a bit surprised that it seemed popular there.
>DEY ONLY HICKZ APPRECIATE THE CONFEDERACY HURR
The confederates had some really good military geniuses, such as Stonewall Jackson (imho one of the top three American military commanders in all of history). His exploits are studied worldwide alongside the likes of fucking Alexander the Great.
Nathan Forrest was also extremely brilliant at military strategy despite being the prototypical hick. Lee's memoir was that they failed to fully use his talents by largely relegating him to the non-major battles.
People like to praise Sherman and say he was the best commander overall but this is just false. Sherman did well against an enemy that was largely defeated after Gettysburg. He had a much larger army, better supplies and equipment every time. It was not a David vs Goliath situation.
While Jackson btfo'd the Union almost every time against overwhelming odds, being outnumbered, possessing soldiers less trained with worse equipment and supplies. He was a true fucking genius. It was tactical brilliance that caused him to win.
In the end though, niggers should have all been kicked out. A lot of niggers are much more of societal loss than a benefit in any developed country. Regarding the Confederate Flag, it's protected under the 1A, and I'd fly it just to piss off niggers and leftists because I can. This isn't Cuckmany where flying your own national flag is considered shameful.
>inb4 southerner
t. NH
Feels good to live in an overwhelmingly white state without the nigger menace. We need a wall alongside the Massivetwoshits border.
It's cheap. People will make up whatever excuse they feel they need to.
I own one and don't give a fuck to be completely honest with you familia
ps god save the south
Lived in Atlanta GA most of my life, went to college near Savannah GA, also been all over the south, am white, am educated. Can confirm, confederate flag wavers are dipshit redneck faggots.
I see it on trucks a lot, sometimes on shirts and towels
I guess it's kind of a fashion thing
t. effeminate fun-hating liberal douche
It's the naval jack, and they use it because it's a good looking design.
The majority of people just don't give a fuck. I respect that.
It's typically viewed differently by state.
Here in Iowa it's seen as a sign of a redneck hick.
I personally don't have a problem with it, but it's only ever worn/flown by actual redneck hicks or rural dude-bros.
THIS IS NOW A DIXIES THREAD
YANKEE KEKS GET OUT
THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN
reminder that Yankees (Jews) are controlled by the Illuminati to suppress red blooded true Americans (southerners)
It's definitely considering a more redneck thing to own a confederate flag. I just think of it as a kind of a state flag but for the south. I'm pretty patriotic though so I don't like people placing more emphasis on it than the American flag.
t. Yankee
I have one hanging in my room as a joke.
I live in a liberal state, in a liberal city, in a very Hispanic neighborhood, and have mostly Hispanic, and black friends.
I am white.
I don't give a fuck because it's not like they've ever had a second rebellion -- and even if they did I don't think a flag would incite or stop them. I would fly it for shits and giggles. It's pretty a s s th i c c too
I've seen it in maine
Another one of these threads huh? Yankees and liberals bashing Southern culture. There are 2 Southern flags and imo, 2 classes. I have (pic related) on my wall. It is the 3rd National Confederate Flag of the CSA. The stereotypical Army of Northern Virginia flag is the one the tatted-up rednecks fly.
It is a symbol of rebellion and separate culture that is as defined today. There is racism in every city, in every state. That isn't a Southern thing. When I see a rebel flag on someone car, house or whatever, I feel excited! Say what you will (Most likely ignorant and derogatory), but it is a part of our nations history and should be preserved. Yes I am a proud Southerner and if you don't like that, fuck off!
He's kinda right in a way, you'd see if you lived here bro
