What's your honest opinion about this movie?

What's your honest opinion about this movie?

Its a great film. Theres a reason it made all that moolah. It should have won over Hurt Locker

Looks pretty I guess.

honestly?

... i think it looks cool visually

Really good film that's shat on a lot by virtue of being too successful for its own good.
Very well made, incredible world building, awesome action.

I fucking hated it before I even saw it.

The most bullshit hippy piece of crap ever made.

This.

It felt very tedious even upon the first viewing, and nothing stood out. It's precisely the kind of film that when looking back blurs together.

Avatar> Casino> The Godfather > Citizen meme

Fern Gully 2: Electric Boogaloo

i dont remember

Movie was typical Hollywood CGI bullshit.

Need better bait.

at the IMAX in 3D = amazing

at home on a standard TV in 2D = midly entertaining.

its not really a movie and more of a Disney ride.

Ive not even seen it because its so shit. so yeah its shit.

Who is this anal angel?

It's a good movie that executed fundamentals very well. But it did nothing new or spectacular either. Undeserved hate, which unsurprisingly is from butthurt teens on the internet.

i think it's great. deserved all the praise it gets. highly rewatchable too.

I really liked it, the designs for everything were great

Dances with Wolves CGI edition. Cameron must of had a vault filled with Potter gold pennies after this movie.

Warcraft's visuals shit all over this

I loved it. Then again I loved Tron (fuck Legacy and its Poochie protag though)

This.

It's a great film, not to mention dat soundtrack.

I saw it in 3d with my mum when it came out and it was one of my favourite movie going experience I've ever had in my life.

It's pretty cool, I guess.

It's a better Dune movie than that David Lynch abomination.
Prove me wrong.
You can't

I never got the raving praise for The Godfather. I mean sure, it's really well-directed but it's far from the best movie ever made.

Spotted the redditor!

This would have looked amazing had it come out 10 years ago.

It was pretty. It was also pretty silly with the floating islands, the unobtainium, and the networked trees. The story was meh, and I have no desire to see it again or the sequels.

Visuals are great but the design is boring as fuck. They look like generic anime\disney shit. The story is basically pocahontas\dances with wolves in space. Cam's best movie was the first Terminator and he's become more like Michael Bay as time went on.

It was an amazing movie theater experience, hence why it did so well. It was the first movie that truly capitalized on 3D and did something that no one had seen before; like wizard of oz did for color.
Then you see it on standard blue ray and it was just okay

I didn't get it. Was the guy disinterestedly eating while ordering the murder of peaceful Space Indians a bad guy? This shit was way too over my head.

abatap made me loathe it

First half when you discover whole new world is pretty exciting.
Second half not so much.

I really wish they did porn

Not parody quality

Its not Aliens or T2.

So fuck it. It just wasn't peak JIM CAM.

The movie is fantastic when it comes to immersing the viewer. You really get to know Pandora and the Na'Vi culture. Story/characters were alright to me, I think Quaritch was a really good villain.

well made but forgettable action crap
meh

It was unbearably predictable and boring. Every imaginable story cliche rolled into one. I have noticed a trend in people I know who enjoyed it, though. They all seem to be 20 something year olds who live at home and play world of Warcraft all day, deeply unhappy with their lives.

I liked it. Of course the plot was bad written and unoriginal as fuck but it was very beautiful to watch. I saw it in 3D in theater and was satisfied.

>escapism is bad

i hated it and found the CGI ugly even back then. worst Cameron movie hands down

It was good until the real hero died

>muh trees

I will never understand how it made so much money honestly. hats off to Cameron for that, seriously.

Off by two

I think it was a great movie with great visuals and the Pocahontas 2.0 meme was a bit over the top. Yes this kind of story wasn't completely new, but honestly you can say that about 99.999...% of all movies.

It's certainly not the best film of all time or anything, but I really liked it and I can't wait for the second part.

At least it's not capeshit.

I failed you Quaritch senpai

>i hated it and found the CGI ugly even back then.
Your terrible opinion triggered me. Post an example of better utilised CGI in film since 2009. I can only think of one or two.

If it came out today Sup Forums would call it cuckold propaganda.

What? no...

It was definitely a great theater experience, I saw it in 3D and it was fun to look at. The story was pretty cliche but I spent more time looking at the pretty visuals than paying attention to the story. Rewatching it on a regular tv was alright, but I'm sure it's the visuals that made this movie as popular as it was.

#1 film of all time - best theatre experience I ever had.

Mods, get this underage redditor out of here, please.

user...

Avatar has more in common with Dune than Pocahontas, but of course retards won't know any better.

It's a movie about bestiality.

...

Set a new precedent in the art of motion capture BUT this film had absolutely no cultural impact whatsoever.
Where are the avatar cosplays and die hard fanboys these days? Shit lasted for two years now barely anyone speaks about it anymore.

James Cameron is only making another 4 unnecessary Avatar films is beacause its title as the most financially successful film/sci-fi will inevitably soon be lost to one of the infinite number of star wars films on the horizon.

>not making an autistic cinematic universe
>somehow a bad idea
Go back to your containment board if you want a McDonald's franchise.

Can someone post the camron destroying capeshit webm?
