I dunno, a live action Eva in the right hands could be LOTR-good.
It's just that the live-action Eva trilogy that might be will never happen in today's Hollywood, and instead, we'd get some YA-ified tripe with "strong female characters", or some bastardized "evangelion-in-name-only" action fare directed by JJ Abrams or Michael Bay.
