Chronicle is objectively the best found footage movie of all time.
Dominic Myers
I only hate found footage movies when they completely forget about their own gimmick. Takes me right out of it.
Hunter Jackson
Cannibal Holocaust Blair Witch Paranormal Activity VHS Taking of Deborah Logan
Jonathan Wilson
It's ok but could have been so much better.
Wyatt Myers
I liked Creep.
Connor Perry
Blair Witch Project Cloverfield Apollo 18
Josiah Howard
Oh and Zero Day which is probably the most immersive found footage film.
John Thomas
Just looked up a trailer for this and I'm not really grasping what it's about. I'm assuming two white boys decide to shoot up a place or something? Mind trying to give me a quick pitch for why I should watch it?
Christian Gonzalez
Marble Hornets on youtube is the best. Sup Forums never mentions it for some reason.
Noah Ward
One of the few times in my life that I've gotten high, my friend showed me this one. Scariest experience of my fucking life, I'm sure the movie's only a 7/10 at best but that scene (you know which one) was the scariest fucking thing I've ever seen.
I got the complete series blu-ray in the mail a few days ago. I've never seen past season 2 so I'm really excited.
Jaxon Cooper
Horror Found Footage I liked
Noroi: The Curse (although I thought it was way overrated) V/H/S/ 1/2 Creep Asylum Blackout Frankensteins Monsters had like 12 good minutes and the rest was hot horseshit Chernobyl Diaries I actually really enjoy
Found footage movies I want to know if I should watch:
Lake Mungo WIllow Creek The Pyramid (or whatever)
Owen Miller
If you liked Chernobyl then you'll like The Pyramid.
Jackson Price
>general thread >for a genre Kill yourself.
Robert Lopez
We mention it a lot actually
Lucas Thompson
>Lake Mungo Yes >WIllow Creek Yes >The Pyramid (or whatever) No
Carter Sullivan
Guess I'll wait and watch Pyramid last then
Any others that I should look out for? I liked the atmosphere of Chernobyl Diaries a lot
I also loved the Conspiracy.
Any movies where like a village or cult comes after the person?
Ayden Murphy
I need to keep reminding /ffg/ that it exists.
It's literally Sup Forums: the found footage film.
>Be My Cat: A Film for Anne is a 2015 English-language Romanian found footage horror movie directed, produced and written by Adrian Țofei, about a young man going to shocking extremes to convince Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway to play in his film.
Found footage movies are the only ones that entertain me anymore. VHS 1 and 2 were pretty good
Jayden Murphy
which scene was it? I haven't seen it since last year. Was it the end?
Michael Reed
Who /yellowbrickroad/ here
Zachary Thompson
The VHS trilogy has about 4 good shorts between the whole series. You could almost make one watchable movie out of them.
Jackson Bailey
>/yellowbrickroad/
That's not even found footage.
Carter Fisher
...
Alexander Green
it is until the ending
Robert Kelly
I knew it was that scene.
Dominic Gonzalez
Oh shit I blocked this from my memory for some time now
Christian Thomas
Kill List, not found footage but its GOAT
Cameron Perry
What's a Found Footage movie with a low amount of shaky can, other than VHS?
Ryan Morris
Why? Are you one of those gay guys that vomits when the camera shakes?
Maybe you should stick to gay-themed sitcoms, homo.
Adrian Reyes
American Guinea Pig is the only thing that comes to mind
Jose Myers
>Lake Mungo
One decent jump scare and that's it. Not worth watching unless you're really bored.
>Willow Creek
Interesting from a filmmaking standpoint. Almost a shot for shot remake of Blair Witch, but better made than the Blair Witch. Not so great if you just want a comfy spooky movie.
>They Pyramid
terrible.
Jose Bell
>this whole thread >nobody mentioned Borderland
Weird. It's the best found footage movie.
Also somebody mentioned Noroi. A couple of other interesting J-horror found footage films- The Occult, Shirome, and P.O.V. They have pretty big flaws, but they're still worth watching.
James Barnes
what next film would you like to see in found footage? I really don't want VR to be the next step.
Nathaniel Davis
My favourites (that I can remember): Lake Mungo (more faux-documentary) The Blair Witch Project Creep Chronicle REC Willow Creek End of Watch
I'm hesitant to watch the trailer because I don't want spoilers but I'm really intrigued.
Luis Martinez
Yea that movie is great.
I've had Shudder for about a year so I've run through most good looking films there (this being one of them) PHENOMENAL ending.
Robert Bell
I mentioned Noroi, I thought it was underwhelming but I still enjoyed the atmosphere. I'll check some of these out.
Connor Hall
Daily reminder that the people who make and bump these threads are cancerous attention whores who hate Sup Forums and Sup Forums.
James Carter
No, I just hate it when the entire middle of the movie is blurry except for closeups of the camera holder's face.
If I'm watching a movie, I want to be able to see things.
Blake Ortiz
what the fuck
How fucking pathetic do yhou have to be to waste time typing that
I like horror movies you stupid fuck and I'll post in any thread I want. Effective non-use of sage you fucking twat.
Austin Gonzalez
>muh jump scarez
People like you should be shot. Lake Mungo is quality.
Owen Jones
I've been interested in Shudder for months but their Canadian selection is pretty small.
Jeremiah Sanders
It operated like total shit for the first 6 months or so I had it. I even emailed them and bitched up a storm, they gave me a couple free months
Idk if they finally invested more servers but its been working great, although I can't speak for non-Burger selections.
thank you for this i've been on a kick lately saw collingswood and this really old one about a murder that happened when someone was looking for the jersey devil and it turns out the documentary guy was the murderer
Nathan King
I pass that on shudder a lot.
What exactly is it like? And was it really broadcast on public access?
Eli Flores
This house has people in it is pretty good youtube.com/watch?v=x-pj8OtyO2I make sure to check out the website after, there's like 2 hours of footage
Lincoln Foster
it's not real but it's very convincing, not even talking about the story, i just mean the aesthetic, also they actually put adverts in it from the era
Isaac Allen
>pretending not to be one of them
Evan Lopez
Huh. I've had that on my HD for a couple months maybe I'll check it out finally
Nathan Roberts
>that spoiler My friend told me about that one but I forgot the name. Do you remember what it was called?
Jace Perry
Yea that really through me off watching AS late at night.
If you liked that you'll like their first project, Unedited Footage of a Bear. Also has a fake website.
Julian Scott
GOAT holy shit niche taste I think I saw this one from Cinemassacre
Joseph Gutierrez
it's about a VHS someone found of a local TV station's Halloween night broadcast that was never aired again, first with the news showing hokey segments about local ghost stories etc then with a special where a reporter goes into a supposedly haunted house with psychics to film the experience live but then mysterious things start happening in the house.
Is it real though? no but it is very entertaining, starts off somewhat comedic with fake commercials that do a great job emulating ones of the era but then the creepiness builds and builds until the end
Tyler Cooper
Isn't this a remake of a British thing?
Alexander Flores
rational
Cooper Lee
i found it after a search for like best found footage movies, gimmie minute
here we go, the last broadcast
i saw nightmare code, too, which had some nice touches but shit ending
there was this one fairly recently, think it was about two couples who go camping, and one of the women has this enormous rack found footage really needs more nudity people have been video'ing themselves naked and doing it for years there's no reason to exclude it
Connor Morris
Oh this sounds righttt up my alley Ill have to watch it on Shudder once Im off my Hotspot
Brody Cook
>not mentioning Long Pigs >not mentioning The Bay >not mentioning The Poughkeepsie Tapes >not mentioning The Wicksboro Incident >not mentioning Incident in Lake County >not mentioning The Borderlands >not mentioning Nightmare Code >not mentioning Interview with the Assassin >not mentioning Reel >not mentioning House with 100 Eyes >not mentioning Lunopolis
Plebs
Camden Turner
>found footage really needs more nudity
Seriously, especially since it's such a prevalent (and enjoyable) horror/slasher trope.
Usually its some dude awkwardly filming his GF while she playfull says "anonnnn stopppp"
Luke Kelly
No. You're thinking of Ghostwatch
Oliver Powell
No, although it could have some kind of influence on it.
Speaking of Ghostwatch, that's a fucking GOAT found footage program.
Dominic Johnson
I fell for the Borderlands meme and was extremely disappointed. I do not get the hype and I really really wanted to like it
Chase Evans
>found footage really needs more nudity
Dude get a girlfriend. We want a good story and good immersion, not porn.
Asher Cook
Same principle though, right?
TV crew "explores a haunted house," as a gag, shit turns out real?
Caleb Bell
Daily reminder that the only reason OP created this thread is to cause unrest on the board. If anyone calls him on it he will feign indignation and his friends will samefag and bump the thread at full speed to give the image of popularity.
Ian Ross
why not both
Jose Long
>I fell for the Borderlands meme and was extremely disappointed.
Not enough jump scarez, pleb?
Jonathan Howard
>Not noticing some of these already mentioned >Not just mentioning these to add to the conversation >Plebs
ur so leet bro twat
Xavier Rodriguez
>TV crew "explores a haunted house," as a gag, shit turns out real?
That's not what Ghostwatch is at all.
No, I actually enjoy found footage. It's great.
Kevin Ward
the ending is mostly what had me so salty.. I do like the lack of score and the creepiness in some bits but the rest was ehh
Tyler Phillips
Do you not see all these other people contributing? Why don't you go post in another thread, sage, or kill yourself? Why not all three?
Leo Nelson
Daily reminder that the mod who babysits these threads is the same mod who babysits clickbait threads and GoT.
Cooper Collins
The ending was great. It was exactly what the film needed in the end and it was foreshadowed the whole time.
Henry Collins
school shooting film told almost entirely through the killers' video-blogs it's probably the only good school shooting movie out there
Luke Rivera
What the fuck even was this movie?
Charles Scott
Lunopolis is great.
>at friend's house, he says put on a movie >play Lunopolis on Plebflix >about 40 minutes in someone says "This shit is so fake, why would you believe this?" >spend the next 10 minutes laughing because retarded bitch thought it was a documentary about time traveling not-scientologists from the moon
Gavin Carter
sometimes i just want to release a found footage movie onto youtube but instead of actual footage it's just a video of a vhs and the joke is that i don't have a vcr so i can't do anything about it
2 hours
written and directed by me
Henry Myers
Did you watch The Dirties?
The guy behind this is also doing a found footage film about the faking of the moon landing.
Adrian Rodriguez
Who is /hype/ as fuck for this?
>1967: the height of the Cold War. The CIA suspects there is a Russian mole inside of NASA, sabotaging the Apollo program. They send two young agents on a mission to go undercover, posing as documentary filmmakers to capture NASA’s race to the moon. The real mission – use their access and technology to hunt down the leak. But what they discover is far more shocking than soviet spies… Their government may be hiding a secret about Apollo that could define the decade, and the White House will stop at nothing to silence anyone who learns it.
Cameron Smith
movie was fucking retarded
Camden Reyes
>he's not on a private tracker that has found footage as a category and has many rare titles
Aaron Price
i liked the dirties man, totally forgot about it i'll check out that found footage movie
Charles Nguyen
private tracker faggots are getting more annoying than ever
Brandon Ross
What do you think about this, /ffg/?
>A couple plots to murder a random stranger just for the thrill of it, but things turn ugly when one of them decides not to go through with it
the last broadcast was pretty interesting up until the very end of the movie. but holy shit, the last 10 minutes of the film are absolute horseshit that ruined the buildup of the rest of the movie. a waste of fucking time.
Joshua Ward
Color me interested...
Dylan White
>2016 >he's not on a private tracker >he can't find shit on his public trackers
kek
Liam Allen
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH ITT: Cuck Landis
Matthew Perez
private trackers doesn't have anything obscure, delusional fag
Jason Collins
>private trackers doesn't have anything obscure
It's hilarious that you actually believe this
Evan Hall
VHS 1 and 2 are great but stay away from Viral. The Satanic world part could have been good if they didn't end it with monster dicks.
Benjamin Collins
Willow Creek was directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, apparently.
Jayden Reed
where can I watch it? Looks awesome
Chase Long
>>not mentioning The Borderlands This movie went from 0 to 100 pretty quickly.
The ending stuck with me but everything else was pretty bland.
Colton Cox
>there was this one fairly recently, think it was about two couples who go camping, and one of the women has this enormous rack Which one is this
Wyatt Cook
>everything else was pretty bland.
It was a nice build up with likeable, interesting characters.
Xavier Cook
I guess given the ending I wanted more back story of the spooky monster that lived under the church
The priest character was also pretty dull - just the typical priest in a horror movie act to me.
Aiden Collins
Backstory is tough on found footage. Mostly people just finding clues and reading stuff. It was a good found footage movie. Gave you more than enough to enjoy it and let your mind do the rest of the world building.
