Ive finally caved in and started watching season 1. Got to the third in 2 days by watching it all in x2.0 speed in VLC.
There is no other series that excels in acting, pacing, writing, set pieces, atmosphere and attention to details and no other series has managed to maintain this quality consecutively for SIX FUCKING SEASONS.

Soon after it ends articles and blogs like "Five ways GoT makes no sense" and "Top ten (out of thousand) dumbest things happened in GoT" and within a decade this will be a received wisdom that the show was shit and everyone will wonder why did they like it.

I agree user. I have caught up with the present episode.
Season 1 I found most difficult to sit through for some reason but I absolutely loved Seasons 2-3. 4 felt a little different and not as good but I absolutely enjoyed Season 5 (no idea why people hate it) and Season 6 (latest episode is a 10/10 visually and story wise, building up to something huge).
Having a false superiority complex for no good reason.
