john lurie rules. his fishing show is the comfiest thing ive seen and his music is the best.he has a great scope of humor, warmth, absurdity, mysticism and tranquility in everything he does.
i dont listen to much jazz but i would be grateful for any recs that have a similar feeling to his work

some of Marc Ribot's earlier work is similar, for me at least although Ribot is a more serious avant-garde type - he played in Lounge Lizards for a while, too. Check out Requiem for What's His Name
