How did Russians come to be regarded as the leaders of the Slavic world, if most of their population is equal parts naive and deluded? Was it the success of the Soviets, and if yes, what did the Soviets do right that Putinland does not?

It was the rapid expansion of the Muscovites, which was a consequence of long Mongol oppression

>Was it the success of the Soviets
yes my ex-ottoman friend

Then answer the second part of my question, what did they do right to become a true world power, for 40 years.

>what did the Soviets do right that Putinland does not?
We need more larvae to spawn eggs.

putinland is the result of the soviet breakup
the soviets included all these other countries as well who were not slavs btw
it was not meant to be a pan-slavic entity in the first place

moscovites are the only ones who actually put hands to work

Being the biggest in modern times with a formidable military.

>don't get irony
imperial russia liberated balkan slavs from turks
which else slav country did it?

>what did they do right to become a true world power, for 40 years
Big country, big military, a buffer of puppet states and like America became important because the old European powers had really beat the shit out of each other.

They won WW2 and had a massive army, then they used this army and other means of oppression which had become a part of their culture from mongol times to secure power and intimidate smaller cunts
Then they used all their resources (and other cunts resources) to get ahead, mainly in science, culture and secret intelligence
But the system quickly became inefficient, since all the power was allocated to a small group of people and there was not much space for other actors. Corruption became prevalent, they started stagnating in the 70s and collapsed 20 years later

Serbia and Greece were already independent, we supported your push to the Bosphorus with our volunteers. To this day, a statue of Alexander the Liberator stands in our capital, and no one speaks ill of it. BTW, unless you are an aristocrat, he also liberated your ancestors--serfdom existed in Russia until that guy forbid it. But back on topic, Imperial Russia wanted to conquer and not make independent the Black Sea coast of the Balkans. Multiple historical documents attest to that, Oh Great Liberator.

No it didnt

That's actually a pretty good response, also gommunism was a fairly advanced modernist philosophy which enabled super-national organization, for a time, until inefficiencies and resurgence of local nationalism killed it.

I think it's really only inefficiencies, resurgence and local nationalism didn't get spurred until Gorbachev enacted perestroika and glasnost, which was only a shitty attempt at giving away some freedoms to create a mixed economy in response to these inefficiencies and long stagnation.

As someone who's not a "Russiaboo", they were hardly independent. Romania more than Serbia. It took the last, major push of 1870es, by Russian intervention, for others to recognise them as fully independent countries. Though Serbia, for example, led intense negotiations with the sultan to throw out the Ottoman troops before the 1878 war, it was done in a manner dictated by the Ottomans, and Austrians just stood there, a bunch of fucking pansies

Romania was not taken seriously until Carol I didn't consolidate it at the end of 60es

Russians basically chose to help these countries on their way to freedom rather than have them in Ottoman sight/hands. One of lesser "evils" for them

If slovenia outnumbered russia then they'd be the leader. Pretty simple.

Russians ended up as top Slavs because Slavs are useless shits.

Military power cyka

Russians romanticize war so much, you almost wish a war broke so you and your bro can be in the trenches and he gets shot and you get so emotionally hurt that you start yelling and run at the enemy in full Rambo mode miraculously dodging every bullet and shoot down 20 enemy soldiers in slow motion.

>if most of their population is equal parts naive and deluded
But it isnt. Where did you get this meme?
Russians are pretty redpilled desu. You might not get that impression because they will always defend their leader and country before an outsider but that doesnt mean they arent self-aware.
Besides their leadership in the Slav world prescedes the Soviet Union and goes back to the Russian Empire. They've been the most productive Slavs in terms of art, culture and science for a long time.
