Your point being? He was arrested for participating in the protests that turned violent, not for simply being a member of the Muslim Brotherhood (which as you said, wasn't an illegal organisation at the time).

Nobody's fault but his own then - as I've been saying all along. A teenager had no business being over there during a time of civil unrest. Not our problem.
And if he got a trial, they'd be complaining about it being a "show trial", or the sentence being too long.
In all likelihood, "detention without trial" is a relative kindness, because if they were to convict them of terrorism, the penalty would be a loooong time in prison, or death.
Detention without trial is a way to keep them out of the way while the regime re-establishes its control without having to kill them.

Referring back to a post in the last thread about Halawa getting involved with the Muslim brotherhood. He should have learnt more about the people he was getting involved with and gotten to understand the people he was integrating. In other words, lurk moar
