What's the mentality behind these people Sup Forums? Why would they convert to a religion that's from a completely different culture? I don't assume all of these are people who convert because of GF. Can anybody on here explain the psychology behind it? I don't mean for this to be a Sup Forums thread, Sup Forums is useless for discussion and I don't think this fits on /his/, so Sup Forums is the best bet

I remember some years ago reading some article about white Dutchmen who converted to Islam (not the same thing but I'm going to assume the situations are comparable enough). The idea is based on a lot of misinformation, from what I can tell from the interviews at least. You often hear such things from the converts as "Islam is such a beautiful religion of love!" or "In Islam, your relationship with God is so much closer and more personal than in Christianity!". Reeling in new converts with lies is nothing new to Islam (see: the Satanic Verses) because as soon as they recite the Shahada, you can simply kill them if they try to leave. I can only really recall one interview (and not even in the same article mind you) where a white convert to Islam actually behaved like a proper Muslim (read: radical) and actually wanted to take his black wife (also a convert) to Egypt where they could live like proper Muslims.
tl;dr: Muslims who seek to convert the native population actively decieve them into believing such things as "Islam is a religion of love" and "Muhammad was a feminist" or even "Christianity is the white man's religion, stick it to THE MAN and join Islam!". It's quite easy to advertise your religion when you yourself aren't concerned with telling the truth and the media is too afraid to correct you.
But that's just my two cents. Back to the regularly scheduled programming of racist memes.

People convert either for personal or marriage reasons I imagine. For those numbers to hold any meaning you'd have to post how many converted to Christianity (the only other relevant religion) and than compare the non-muslim people to the non-cristian people and adjust for age (because people usually convert at certain points in their life).
