What's the problem? Also, my 2 years of learning Russian tell me that the name ljubljana has something to do with love? Or am I completely off track here?
Ljubljana sounds fantastic. The city of love.
So I'm not retarded, good to know.
There's no english version of the name, so it may sound weird.
Vienna comes from italian language, in german it's Wien.
Prague in czech is Praha
Warsaw in polish is Warszawa
We call it Laibach.
Ljubljana makes my tongue hurt.
>Bratislava
We should've kept Prešporok/Pressburg/Pozsony ťbh
American tourists call it Lubiana in the Italian manner. Annoying af.
This.
Also
>Warsaw
>Beautiful
sounds like you're having a heart attack
even I, a slavshit can't pronounce it, what the fuck
how does it sound? I thought it was something like Liubliana.
JA! JA! JAWOHL!
Lube-Lee-Ahna.
are you serious?
it's just "liubliána"
There is no i sound.
lyoob-lyana
Explain this """""y sound""""" you talk about
It's the German J, as in Johann.
igual que la i española en diptongo
Bratislava sounds really powerful though
youtube.com
Soft L, like your double ll. Llubllana, something like that
You cannot make the "y" sound without also making an "ee" sound in this case.
So L-ll-ubl-ll-ana in spanish?
Ya pero cómo hago ese sonido luego de una L?
This is confusing
Ljub is the root for love, yes, but the name does not originate from that word. It probably originates from latin alluvius, which means swamp earth. It makes sense since Ljubljana is build on a swamp.
This is very nice name for the city. In slavic languages in would something like "Love" or "Beloved"
Try pronouncing it as l-u-llubl-u-llana with the Us pronunced as the mute japanese U
Or don't pronounce the L
I've read that the name comes from the personal name Ljubovid, since the attested Latin names for the town are Emona and, during the dark ages, Atamina.
>generic Slavic shithole #25
Almost like Slovakia
L-you-blia-na
This used to be one of the theories, but in the end it was ruled that Ljubljána and ljúbljena have no direct connection.

The way she pronounces it is the correct way. I could hardly find a good pronounciation on the internet
Is it really such a fucking trouble to go on the Wiktionary page on the word and just listen to the recording of someone saying it?
Why does everyone on Sup Forums behave like a retarded manbaby?
Is it because Trump is in the office?
...
Wiktionary pronounces it wrong, I've checked.
Because it's fun discussing it, you absolute autist
Why discuss international culture if it's all in their respective wiki pages?
What's fun about arguing whether it's y, ll, ee or i you dumb reterd?
In reality, only romance languages and the crypto romance language English have the problem with J.
watch zizek videos
This
When I read zizek I immediately get reminded of the Styrian word for boobs (zizike)...but I know most posters don't have the Ž on their keybs to be able to write the word correctly, as Žižek.
