I thought it would be too given the big admiral talk that a war was coming.

the only actually interesting "alien empire" threats to ever appear on Star Trek were The Borg and The Dominion

I'd love to see a movie about The Dominion. The relationship between the changelings, the Vorta, and the Jem'Hadar was really interesting.

I don't care about the foreshadowing, I just want newtrek klingons!

I recommend phasers and a full spread of torpedoes!

This is the klingon war is inevitable talk.

How is war with the klingon empire any less interesting than war with those other two quasi-empires?

IMO klingons are the best ST race.

Also did anyone else actually enjoy the jj movies?

That map is crap but what annoys me most is it doesn't have the race Janeway from the future described in the unknown space on the right.

Well they were from another dimension altogether weren't they?

I still want the Borg in one of these reboot movies. Would be awesome.

Oh look, it's a deep shit 9 fanbabby

We've seen Klingon empires millions of times in fiction already. They're just generic "warlike race". They're not clever like the Romulans and they're not as delusional and paranoid as the Cardassians. They're just generic "warrior empire".

Pretty much any other Trek empire is more entertaining to watch battle the empire. The Romulans and Cardassians have their political schemes, the Dominion have their clashing ideologies of the 3 races that run it, the Borg have their inevitability and overwhelming persistence, what do Klingons have? A bunch of shitty CGI space battles where space ships shoot laser at each other and rants about honor?

Fuck, even a movie about the Breen or Tholians would be more interesting because they could flesh out the races that have been pretty much ignored

Who hurt you?

Noble savage is the best warrior culture trope.

I love the klingons because they're pretty much black people with Japanese samurai culture.

This. The only interesting thing the Klingons ever did was to serve as either Cold War allegories or pawns of a more interesting and better written faction.

>black people with Japanese samurai culture.

More like Mongolians with Japanese culture

The facial hair, skin color, and clothing are totally Mongolian. Especially in the original series

Romulans were a better cold war analogy.

The first one, 2nd one wasn't as enjoyable and I barely stood Benedict's rubber faced acting.

>Spinoff comics show that the Romulan ship from the first movie is outfitted with reverse-engineered Borg tech
>During the first movie the Borg detect their tech in the Alpha quadrant
>they make a b-line for it, we get to see Kirk deal with them
there, you can keep that for yourself jj

The new movie looks like it might actually be about the Dominion unless that's been debunked now.

That would be nice. I only hope that the Changlings look less shit this time. Only problem with the Dominion in DS9 was the shitty costumes. The Vorta and Jim Hordor costumes were pretty good.

Cardassians and Romulans are more interesting than the Borg imo. Especially after the introduction of Borg queens.

GOD TIER:
Original "hivemind" borg
Terran Empire

HIGH TIER:
Dominion
Ferengi
Orion
Krenim

MID TIER:
Cardassians
Romulans
Klingons
United Federation of Planets

LOW TIER:
Other small empire (Breen, Gorn, Tholian)
Q Continuum

SHIT TIER:
Bajoran
Borg with queen
Kazon

Yea he was my least favorite thing about the movie. I was pretty upset they went with a white guy desu. I was a big fan of Monteban's Khan.

First Khan is best Khan

Enterprise killed all the interest that I had in the Orions.

>people want TNG races in non-TNG movies

FUCK

OFF!!!!

I for one, I'm tired of the Klingons.
Romulans and Cardassians at least know how to carry a conversation properly.

That map (or should I say chart?) is totally wrong. There's a LOT more of unexplored space in Star Trek's Milky Way.

Also, I doubt the Dominion and Borg space share a frontier.

You are a miserable cunt.

Do you mean Bajorans and Cardassians?

All you can discuss with a Bajoran is why they voted for Winn instead of Bareil.
>She promised to build a wall around the celestial temple and make the Federation pay for it!

...

How do klingons even operate their spaceships considering they're all heavy metal idiots who can barely string together a coherent sentence.

>Also did anyone else actually enjoy the jj movies?
In my mind they're not Star Trek.
I hope the new series is set in the original timeline (25th century) and continue the tradition of TNG and DS9.

>Cardassians and Romulans are more interesting than the Borg imo. Especially after the introduction of Borg queens.
Agreed. The Borg queen took away a lot of the mystery about them. That been done, I'd like to see the origins of the Borg, how thousands of years ago some culture lost control of an AI and/or fused with it... something like that.

...

Well, Bajorans too. But I meant Romulans, when they choose to talk they're quite interesting.

>Niggons

They're Russians
