I hope one day we can recognize pedophilia as a mental illness and have people come forward in order to identify themselves as so without the fear of being ostracized. These people need help and we, as a society, should offer them that help without judging them. Not all pedophilas are proud of it, and a lot of them genuinely wishes they could change. If we are able to get these people the help they need, we can help countless of potential victims down the road.

I have a female friend who was definitely mature and willing to have sex at a younger age. She wasn't abused, she just grew up fast. She is also very smart, which might have something to do with it. I don't think she ever acted on it because of the potential risk.

Sadly she is probably a rare case and the law can't be made for rare cases. But you know somewhere out there are many perfectly healthy pedo relationships between smart people, that will never be revealed.

The child has not developed mentally to the point where they can provide proper consent, it's the same idea as not allowing children to live on their own at such a young age, they're simply not mentally mature enough to handle it yet. My point is that that teenagers can practice safe sex and shouldn't be that bad if they knew what they are doing.
The main reason is 'bad' for them to have sex is because parents are too fucking dumb to instruct them in sexual education and they don't know what they re doing.

Reaching out to help those who identify as such before they start committing crimes is the healthiest way to prevent it. If you are born like that you can't control it but there should be help to manage it.
