homer badman

but there are so many excellent ones

>anything beyond 9
>golden

fpbp

Homer goes to college

Also the golden years are 4-6

Anyone who says 3-8 doesn't know the show

Last Exit to Springfield

There is literally one joke that misses the mark and it's some stupid Bart shenanigans anyways so who cares? It's a 99.9% perfect episode.

>I haven't actually seen the show I just parrot others opinions

>Dramatization: May not have really happened

>season 1
>golden

I never got into simpsons. What is the best episode for NEETs

oh stop it you, it is a very remarkable episode

The one where marge becomes a police officer is definitely in my top 3

spotted the pleb

season 2 - 8 are perfectly cromulent seasons. although season 8 it starts to unravel a bit.

my favorite episode is $pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)

the one where Homer gets really fat so he doesn't have to work

washin' my fat guy hat, honey

...

1-8 is golden. 9-12 is transitional.

Seriously though

How did they do it?

How was it so good?

cromulent?

10 man writing team

>he hasn't seen the show

cromulent isnt a word so whats your point

"Raging Abe Simpson and His Grumbling Grandson in 'The Curse of the Flying Hellfish'"

Springfield Files
Homer the Great
Cape Feare
Lisa the Vegetarian
You Only Move Twice
Brother From the Same Planet

Lemon of Troy

Monorail

Simpson and Delilah.

As someone who's deathly afraid of going bald, that episode's pretty comforting to watch, in a lot of ways.

Cape Feare

You need to embiggen yourself, son

simpsons kino

>l

This is playing out just like the scene

me too

Jesus christ, 3-8 are golden era. 1-2 and 9-12 are watchable. The rest is garbage.

The one where Bart enters the boxcar tourney is pretty choice. When homer calls Martin a homewrecker is fucking halarious

THE BASEBALL EPISODE

this is correct

>Homer's Enemy
>Homer's Barbershop Quartet
>A Streetcar Named Marge
>King Sized Homer
>Homer Goes to College
>Mother Simpson
>Maggie Makes Three
>Boy Scoutz 'n the Hood
>Homer Badman
>Last Exit to Springfield
>Rosebud
>Homer the Smithers
>Homer the Heretic
>The Last Temptation of Homer
>One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Blue Fish
>Cape Feare
>You Only Move Twice
>The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show
>Homer vs. the Eighteenth Ammendment
>Bart the Daredevil

My personal comprehensive list of the greatest episodes ever. Not in any particular order.

God bless

The PTA Disbands easily

>THEY'RE TRYING TO LEARN FOR FREE
>"INSOLVENT?"

hey i was just going to ask if there's no love for that episode here
nice man

Dog of Death

The Simpsons is s 1-12

The golden age is 4,5,6

Rosebud is my favorite. Golden age to me is seasons 4, 5, & 6, although 2 & 3 are great and 7 & 8 are good.

jesus how has treehouse of horror not been mentioned yet? the good simpsons seasons pretty much all feature an excellent treehouse episode, and they usually manage to be funny as well as scary which is difficult to pull off.

>NO! MONEY DOWN

>Mein bratwurst has a second name, it's S-C-H-N-A-C-K-E-N-P-F-E-F-F-E-R-H-A-U-S-E-N

2-8 fite me nigger

I think they are just considered so good that "best episode" discussions tend to ignore him. I personally left ToH episodes out my favourites list because in the classic era they were all absolutely fantastic but felt kind of disconnected from the main show because there was so much more freedom for the writers to do silly, fourth wall breaking, unbelievable stuff. It's almost not fair to include them in a greatest episodes list because they would dominate it.

u rite

>One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Blue Fish
such an underrated episode, top 10 for sure

barts comet springs to mind

but idk everything up to around season 11 is god-tier

comfiest fucking show of all time

>Homer goes to college
this one of the best scenes in all of simpsons is pic related, hell even reading a fucking description of it has me in stitches
>In the scene that was shown, the President of the United States visited the college where the movie took place and said he hoped that nothing unsavory would happen during his visit. Dean Bitterman reassured the President, saying that nothing would go wrong because he had expelled the rowdy members of Chugalug House. However, one of the members (Corey Masterson) got back at Bitterman by setting off Nerdlinger's "bra bomb" which sent many bras raining down on the President and the dean. Bitterman angrily screamed "Corey!" and then was shocked to see the President dancing around in the rain of bras. The President told Bitterman to "Lighten up!" and said that Corey would make a perfect addition to his Cabinet as the "Secretary of Partying Down!"

I think the war of the simpsons is an even more underrated fish themed simpsons episode

Yep, I'm a sucker for the early feelsy episodes like that, Lisa's Substitute, And Maggie Makes Three, Bart Gets an F, I Love Lisa, and so on.

>tfw the closing credits of Mother Simpson
I bawl like a girl every time

That episode is possibly one of the outright funniest they ever made. So many laugh out loud moments packed into one episode. My personal favourite scene is when the professor drops his papers and Homer laughs himself hoarse. I'm laughing now just thinkig of it.

hello that sounded like a pig feinting

hahah ya i just laughed remembering that shit

Wait a minute... that's not the wallet inspector...

Embiggen your vocabulary before chiming in, you jive turkey

Any parody they do of Tennessee Williams is fucking fantastic. The Smithers dream of cat on a hot tin roof changing into streetcar was fucking great.

And the entirety of the streetcar musical is GOAT

LORD PALMERSTON

>1-12 golden era
The golden era just keeps getting longer and longer
I remember when it was 1-8

Oh the taxes! The finger thing means the taxes!

Simpsons had vest improv

my fave episode too

also 1-10 after that it died

Golden era is 3-10 in my opinion, but honestly people act as if every episode suddendly became unwatchable after that, I still enjoy everything up to like season 14-15

> he doesnt think seasons 1 + 2 are the best seasons

just go away

Homie the Clown is the best episode

but I'm with seasons 1-10 with 9 and 10 having a real dropoff but there are still gems in there.

This is definitely one of the best moments

Homer's Phobia is distinctly absent. Your list is shit

Toss up between Rosebud and Mr Burns Casino.

Both episode have quotes that I use pretty much every day. The boogeyman scene is probably my all time favorite scene.

>seasons 1-12
u wot m8? 10-12 are garbage

>Woah, I'm seeing double here, four Krustys!

one of the best jokes in the show

hah ya thats in part why $pringfield is my favorite episode - the boogeyman scene

Lard of the Dance, except the side storyline with Lisa and Lisa Kudrow is shirt, but Bart and Homer with their grease business is hilarious.

>but dad, all that bacon cost $27
>yeh but your mom paid for that
>doesn't she get her money from you?
>and I get my money from Grease, what's the problem?

Homers enemy is probably the GOAT though.

>I live above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley
>WOOOW!

>That's our Homer!
>*everyone laughs as the coffin is lowered*

Pure gold

homer the great is the best

>You went into outer space?
>Sure. You've never been?
>...
>Would you like to see my Grammy?

>seasons 1-12 are the golden era

HAHAHAHAHAH, no.

Seasons 2-6 are the golden years. 7-9 are still decent. 10 is when it begins the spiral.

U N A

I'd say 9 is pretty bad too. Most of the good ones are holdovers from season 8.

I don't think 9 was bad, but it was losing its luster. 10 is when it really stops being at least decent.

Malibu Stacy and space cadet homer are fuckin top Kek
>can't remember the names of the episode and phoneposting

...

If not great, it's at least on a lot of top 10s.

Definitely the best. Considering the era it was ballsy to kill him. Most shit back most comedy shows had "but everyone had a happy ending" requirement.

>b-b-b-but the animation is bad!

kys

>Most comedies back then

On phone. Editing is stupid

This, I don't know why some people still get butthurt over the ending or call it the beginning of Jerkass Homer. Homer is the one trying to be friendly throughout the episode without realising his stupidity, and Grimey is the dickhead if anyone is.

It's a great meta commentary about cartoons too.

might have to agree with you on that

So is The Principal and the Pauper but people seem to get butthurt over that one too.

>596 episodes

Honestly it reminds me of my grandmother with dementia

...

i thought people hate that one because it fucks up the canon really badly

That's the point though. They deliberately fuck up the canon so much to the point where they could not possibly return to status quo then they do anyway. It's another meta commentary on cartoons and sitcoms in general.

the only difference is that Homer's Enemy is really funny and The Principal and the Pauper isn't, if it weren't for the butthurt it would just be another forgettable season 9 episode

It does address the ridiculousness of the cartoon.

>Been to space
>Won a Grammy
>Etc

But it does so in a way that doesn't damage the show at all. Basically saying "ya it's a cartoon, deal with it" and anyone who gets mad over it looks like jerkass Grimey

...

this

Just remembered Who Shot Mr Burns? as well. Another classic.

>I had an idea, chief. Why don't we check out the suit that Burns was wearing?
>Did you have the same backwards-talking dream with the flaming cards?
>...I'll drive.
