He wants his reviews(all of them) to change the way you think about/experience music.

why would he directly say something so self-incriminating? obviously he doesn't think he's retarded or he wouldn't have a music reviewing channel.

secondly, the point of him citing his positive reviews is because he wants his channel to be a source of discovering good music as well, not just as a way for people to obsess over the albums he's given a negative reception and his scores for them.

i mean if we're being honest, he even admits in the video that because you like an album he dislikes that means he has better taste than you nor does it mean that he can't misunderstand or miss the point of an album

I watched it twice. It's just as self-fellating the second time. He's a glorified vlogger and is acting like a celebrity. He spends the whole time condescendingly explaining why someone might have different taste in songs, and why and when to listen to various things.

Of course he says that, but that's CYA boilerplate. The specific way he talks about people's tastes ("listen to Drake but it's not worthy of being listened to actively", and lots of shit about Future) has a pretentious tone to it. He could've just compared specific subjective life experience differences or something.

Every section of the video is unwarrantedly self-important. It's not a bad video, he makes good points, it's enjoyable, but he's still a pretentious loser.
