You cant even deny that alot of the hate VIII gets is because it came of the heels of FFVII which, contrarians get fucked, was groundbreaking & a pivotal vehicle in turning console rpgs into mainstream titles. Anything Squaresoft made wouldve sucked compared to VII

It's almost as if they built the battle mechanics & components to the hilt and THEN crafted some garbage story around it as opposed to building the story & then implementing the mechanics

Near the windows they had this huge articulated podracer that was connected to a module so it looked like it was crashing through the window. This thing was like 9ft long man...
Inside the whole place was covered head to toe with posters and tapestries, lightsaber models lit up and placed between "Coming Soon" posters in the hallways.
It was like geek Christmas. Never seen them give a movie that kind of treatment since, bro. It was bananas
