On one hand you have the anti-Trump people spouting maymays and trying to make Trump look like "literally Hitler" without any non-out-of-context "proof", or images of Trump making an ass of himself on social media and relatively small things that indicate a seeming lack of impotence more than Hitlerhood, and on the other hand you've got the pro-Trump circlejerks trying to make Trump seem like some god without any actual proof, while shouting "Fake news" on anything both taken out of context and genuine information/details that even slightly implies Trump is not all-perfect.

I've baited several of the "Trump supporters" into arguments about whether America or Russia won the space race and they insist that Russia actually won the space race because the moon landing didn't matter that much.

It's a sad state of affairs.
Gone are the days where you can have moderate opinions and have respect for one another's opinions even when they differ from your own.
We basically live in an era where extremes are all that are acceptable, and if you show any sign of however slight leaning towards 1 side, you're automatically pushed into the category of that side's extremism.
For now it seems a politics-specific thing, with other aspects of life (groups, beliefs, etc.) still allowing for a moderate approach to it and extremism mostly being a (vocal) minority within groups.
I dread the day the trends of politics will be applied to other aspects, though. "Live and let live" attitudes are not as common anymore, but that day I think it'll pretty much fade away completely.
As for forming an opinion on Trump, I meant it's difficult to do so without making some serious assumption based on limited confirmed information surrounded by heaps of shitty altered information - from both sides.
