I would prefer to live in a state-capitalist but nationalist state that has reasonably efficient economic planning. Marxism and market-socialism (that which makes existing capitalism far worse especially in the US) is a disease. Social democrats are a blight on mankind and so is unrestrained capitalism.

S*XONS OUT! OUT! OUT!

If I invent something that people want to buy - something that creates value in the society - why is it bad that I get a portion of the value that is created in compensation for my efforts? Everyone is better off in this scenario - I am motivated to invent because it will improve my lot in life and everyone else gets the benefit of my invention, which improves theirs.

*taxes you to pay for my NEETbux*

share dividends have already paid for half my holiday, by the end of the year might have fully covered the cost

>Social democrats are a blight on mankind
But what you argued for here basically is SocDem
>I would prefer to live in a state-capitalist but nationalist state that has reasonably efficient economic planning.

>"just be yourself bro"

Social democrats in practice are politicians who introduce market socialism to a country. They will never nationalize anything.

Rate the dinner lads

looks tasty 2bh

OI AUSSIE CUNTS:

How much of a presence does the Queen have in the Australian/NZ zeitgeist? Even here I don't know any one who gives a single toss about the old bag, literally all we see of her is on our money and maybe every now and then on the TV.
Can't comprehend how little of a fuck you lads would give.

astounded by how that bloke on the left's chest hair swirles around two axes like that

>spain

i, too, eat my dinner out of the pot i cooked it in

market socialism would be Yugoslavia no?

Hmmmm

>why is it bad that I get a portion of the value that is created in compensation for my efforts?
because the vast majority of people work for someone else so it's unlikely that you yourself will profit much

if you innovate and manage to save your company millions you might get a small bonus but you certainly won't get anywhere near 100%

furthermore in a capitalist society people are competing with each other not collaborating.

Literally no reason not to

>Even here I don't know any one who gives a single toss about the old bag

>everyone else gets the benefit of my invention, which improves theirs
also this is incorrect. patents and the like actively prevent this

>socialism

psychologically i think it's better to eat with plates and bowls. it makes me feel more organised, more adult, more normie.

>patents last forever

everything you make is only possible because of the labour of billions of others, now and in the past

individualism is foolish. why should any one individual get to reap all the rewards for comparatively little work?

all is for all

Is it gay wanting to use my gfs cranberry "shower creme" lads? it smeels fucking delicious

cant recommend shares enough; im not talking about buying and selling like some mad eejit, i mean investing in a well established stable company

like a savings account but instead of £1-2 in interest per year you get a few £100s in dividends

wew

Do you want men to come onto you?

Bit gay that

>why should any one individual get to reap all the rewards for comparatively little work?
because that's how all real development is made, by people standing on the shoulders of giants

not by muckrucking hordes

>i mean investing in a well established stable company
this
exactly
too many idiots think daytrading is what you need to do
I treat my portfolio as a savings account and just enjoy the trickling income

Why is modern British history so humiliating?
>destroy ourselves defending Poland
>don't even manage to save them
>get completely superseded by a former fucking colony
>they dismantle our empire while at the same time dragging us as their lapdog all across the world
>all of our former dominions become distant and forget about us

At least we kept a couple of rocks, r-r-right? And surely Brexit (won by a pitifully small margin) will turn things around, h-hmm?

> because the vast majority of people work for someone else so it's unlikely that you yourself will profit much

In a capitalist society people are generally compensated for their efforts, that's how it works. If you invent something that people want to use you will be rewarded.

> also this is incorrect. patents and the like actively prevent this

It is for that reason that patents typically have very clear restrictions. For example, they only last 20 years and can not be filed on obvious iterations of products. The patent system rewards truly novel inventions and reward their creators but still allow society to iterate after time.

What is the difference between /brit/ and /britfeels/?

The number of pepes allowed or something??

>>get completely superseded by a former fucking colony

off to with you dumb commies
its too late for this passive aggressive rubbish.

Out you go into the wilderness then. Don't expect any help from anyone ever. No doubt a supreme ubermensch like you can handle that.

Those "giants" would be nothing without support. Even fucking Einstein knew that.

>Man is, at one and the same time, a solitary being and a social being. As a solitary being, he attempts to protect his own existence and that of those who are closest to him, to satisfy his personal desires, and to develop his innate abilities. As a social being, he seeks to gain the recognition and affection of his fellow human beings, to share in their pleasures, to comfort them in their sorrows, and to improve their conditions of life. It is quite possible that the relative strength of these two drives is, in the main, fixed by inheritance. But the personality that finally emerges is largely formed by the environment in which a man happens to find himself during his development, by the structure of the society in which he grows up, by the tradition of that society, and by its appraisal of particular types of behavior. The abstract concept "society" means to the individual human being the sum total of his direct and indirect relations to his contemporaries and to all the people of earlier generations. The individual is able to think, feel, strive, and work by himself; but he depends so much upon society -- in his physical, intellectual, and emotional existence -- that it is impossible to think of him, or to understand him, outside the framework of society. It is "society" which provides man with food, clothing, a home, the tools of work, language, the forms of thought, and most of the content of thought; his life is made possible through the labor and the accomplishments of the many millions past and present who are all hidden behind the small word "society."

/brit/ is for lads.
/britfeel/ is for boys.

honestly hate Brits or Commonwealthers that oppose the monarchy. I can't really articulate why but I just do. I just enjoy having such a difference between us and the UK and it would be so fucking boring if it wasn't there.

making a bacon and egg sandwich, really want a coffee with it, but scared to make coffee because the coffee machine is so loud

the sun never sets on the /brit/ empire huh

i hate anti monarchy brits. they are always utterly braindead mouth breathing povvos that are seething because the monarchy live in luxury, in their minds, at their expense. fact is the monarchy generates more revenue in tourism than they consume in taxes, hatred of them seems to only come from contempt, projections of their own shortcomings on those more fortunate

So that means that I can use "boy" as an insult then?

Genuinely consider non-engineers as almost subhuman desu

>Not being named after a family member

this country's fucking shit and needs a major overhaul

>In a capitalist society people are generally compensated for their efforts, that's how it works. If you invent something that people want to use you will be rewarded.
yes thats the idea but it doesn't work like that in practice. the edison's of the world will beat the tesla's nine times out of ten

>It is for that reason that patents typically have very clear restrictions. For example, they only last 20 years and can not be filed on obvious iterations of products. The patent system rewards truly novel inventions and reward their creators but still allow society to iterate after time.
stifling innovation for a nonsense reason.

>it would be boring if a country 4000 miles weren't subservient cuckolds
sounds like you need to get a life mate

nothing but meaningless semantics
yes a society is necessary to produce these "great works" of one sort or another, you need people on every level to make things work, that's the whole purpose of Civilization.

that being said all of this falls apart without order and hierarchy. a farmer may grow the corn that becomes the food the scientist eats, but ultimately he is on a lower tier of the total scale of human production while the Scientist/artist/philosopher occupies the higher and more abstract sphere which pushes at the boundaries of human awareness.

one you start to break down the pyramid, tear down the top layers, you end up with a crab bucket where no one can reach that higher sphere without absolutely superhuman effort, and even then its likely impossible to push beyond it.
as a result all of humanity is lowered to the level of the most basic in our society.

> stifling innovation for a nonsense reason.

it's not a nonsense reason though

>Man is, at one and the same time, a solitary being and a social being. As a social being, he seeks to gain the recognition and affection of his fellow human beings, to share in their pleasures, to comfort them in their sorrows, and to improve their conditions of life. Only the existence of these varied, frequently conflicting strivings accounts for the special character of a man, and their specific combination determines the extent to which an individual can achieve an inner equilibrium and can contribute to the well-being of society. so is all your crap about hierarchy
