it was always mixed a little bit, like in Vienna lots of slavs lived there even in kuk times. However also pre 1945 in Bratislava(Pressburg in German) and Prague lots of Austrians lived there.

slavic and germanic are one genetic group called caucasians. Difference is the culture, and nowadays everyone in eastern Germany and Austria speaks German so they are not slavs anymore culturally
