I mean that their political overtones on their two good albums aren't totally obnoxious because of the context that the albums came to be known in.
But now that we're all decade in to this band being anything but an enigma, they might as well be a band full of dumb, libertarian uncles.
All of their ideas minus any of the fury that they could maintain as young people makes the whole thing seem stale in the modern age. It's too bad they didn't die in a bus crash after Skinny Fists--they could've been the next Joy Division.
Calling them an instrumental band is..almost absolutely incorrect. It's at least misleading.
And the idea that instrumental music is somehow about nothing just because nobody is singing over it is junk. GYBE is extremely political.

It's been a great year as a whole. People talking about it being a dry spell need to listen to more genres and try something other than DAMN. I'm at about 60 new albums in my library this year. Happy with probably 90% of them.
