How are you Anons going? I haven't come here in a while so I thought I'd drop in. Recs are cool, and I will return the favor. Lakutis is pretty good.

I don't know much of this. Check out Milo and/or Mister Heavenly if you feel like it.

dank chart my man we would probably get along. Have you tried the old tunes by BOC?

this is a work of art

thanks, no I have actually not listened to either of the Old Tunes, mainly because I almost exclusively listen to music available on Spotify (The Caretaker and some japanese stuff being exceptions) but I'm downloading A few old tunes right now

i prefer old tunes vol. 2. you should check the 35 random tracks too. They're all pretty inconsistent but definitely an interesting look at what they were doing in the late 80s early 90s and there are also some gems in there

mansun - six
johnny foreigner - waited up til it was light
feed me jack - anatolia
hapshash and the coloured coat
sergius golowin - lord krishna von goloka
a.r. and machines - die grüne reise

...

+++P-Model
+DEVO

>real talk though how is the glow not higher up

idk really, to be honest the order of my chart does not have a lot of meaning, it might as well have ended up over the middle, I was lazy and just put in the best albums that came to mind in no particular order (at least most of them)

...

>Post Malone was playing less than a mile from me
>couldn't go because I was working
>could hear the concert from work

It haunts me to this day.

>Bernstein but no West Side Story
Bah!

Do yourselves a favor and drone my chart.

>Bernstein but no West Side Story
>he has never heard Mass
SAD!

>Mass over West Side Story
Not good!

wtf is wrong with you
Mass is definitely superior. The vocals on it are some of the most mind-blowing stuff I have ever heard. Please re-listen to Agnus Dei before posting that inferior opinion again!
youtube.com/watch?v=e0YIpBvm8ok

+++The Prodigy, +Daft Punk, ++all the mu-core
I'll recommend Leftism by Leftfield. If you like Daft Punk and The Prodigy, I guarantee you'll enjoy it. Also dubnobasswithmyheadman by Underworld.

Same recs for you based on Aphex, Daft Punk, and Orbital

do you actually enjoy good morning good night

youtube.com/watch?v=AUFwk1Ibwkc

Yes, why else would I put it on all of my charts for the past four years ?

any other onkyo recs

>Too Many Notes
fuck you!

Quartet by Nikos and etc

babbys first clt drone

are you looking specifically for the onkyo-style of utilizing space in japan or are you okay with eai outside of that context

haven't explored in years but I think I can find some of my old favorites

wat

found a few
youtube.com/watch?v=Ei6o6uc6gOU
youtube.com/watch?v=m3CJFD6ecOI
anything from I.S.O.
anything from nakamura
anything from taku unami

that about does it for onkyo-kei because I was listening to / reading on EAI moreso than anything

I stopped listening so much to improvised music when I realized how much of an absolute sperg I was being by sitting in a dark room every waking hour not spent at work listening to weirdos scratch contact mics

wow thanks for the recs. did the aesthetics of the movement appeal to you? Like the fact that all of these people were from Japan as opposed to some other third world country?

not really, I became interested in improv by reading John Cage's lectures / writings on indeterminacy and chance music and found that onkyo-kei tended to focus on the chance occurrences within negative space of the "music"

ofc the philosophy of any art can only take you so far and it helps that I do like explorations in timbre & texture as well as soundscapes and the like

japan is culturally / sociologically pretty neat but most of the music out of japan is pretty bad

>japan is culturally / sociologically pretty neat but most of the music out of japan is pretty bad
found the pleb

yeah bro can't wait to go home and listen to some japanoise or jap rock or jap rap or J-pop amiright?

oh wait no because it's all inferior to the western giants they attempt to ape

am i that formula
good aphex pick, have u listened to kid606
check out devo's other stuff if you haven't, listen to cool for cats
:'(
someone redpill me on smash mouth, ive listened to astro lounge and thought it was absolute trash

>friendo

...

...

I really like that you included the direction of last things

peter brotzmann, the residents

what about him

>have you listened to any other Foetus records
No, but I plan to. I have his second most popular DLed already, so its only a matter of time. Will queue it now, maybe listen to it now.
Now, Nail is pretty accessible really. I don't see why you wouldn't like it.
Ever listened to The Difference Between a Fish?

Nail is just his most boring record, and it just feels contrived- like you can tell Jim was listening to a lot of Cabaret Voltaire at the time

It's not boring in the slightest wtf
I thought it was pretty fun at times even.
