I love Hi-NRGl. I don't listen to funk at all but I checked out Lack Of Afro and really liked him. Might as well explore more.

Our paths briefly cross as just waiting on a cab and off out but The Allergies - Push On just came out and loving it. Worth a listen even with a couple of tracks ruined with rapping.
I think I saw this album in a charity shop some years ago, but I'm not 100 % sure don't hesitate to post more hi nrg, I think I'm not the only one to like it but who's too busy with other stuff to dedicate enough time in looking after new stuff to listen to

this 1984 LP is, as far as I'm concened, Kleeer's crowning achievement and a definitive hallmark of 80s funk nothing to throw away, even the one ballad
Johnny "Guitar" Watson's band, and the funkiest effort from the former bluesman the archetype of the excellent AND cheap as hell album, get it if you see it
I don't know why this one gets slept on this much nowadays while it was pretty successful when it was released, but here it is, the 1975 Wild and peaceful follower with its gorgeous cover art
