user, singles aren't going to sell well. Only a fraction of people and the LOONA fandom in general will like a single member's concept enough to buy their album. The company has no intention, and has never had any intention, of turning a profit on what they invest into each individual members' debut.
The purpose of the singles isn't to make profit. It's to generate publicity and draw more and more people into the LOONAverse through each member's niche appeal so that when LOONA debuts as a group, albums will sell like wildfire.
We're 2/3rds of the way through the debut process, and LOONA releases are now getting a solid 1,000,000 views online. That's very, very good for a group that hasn't even debuted. WJSN and April get less than that, and they're mid-tier groups.
