Does anyone in Sup Forums have experience studying in China?
Thinking of doing my postgrad overseas, considering 武大, 川大, 港大 or (台南的)成大, not really considering Shanghai because fuck Shanghai, and Beijing is a maybe. Just worried the standard of education is shit. How does it compare to western countries? Am I just going to get spoon-fed rote shit and have to write my thesis on some pro-party bullshit?
My Mandarin level is fine to get by in Chinese-taught classes, and I'm relatively well travelled so pretty familiar with the terrain and culture.
Also should I just kill myself whilst I'm ahead? I don't want to end up like steel beams user
There are so many international students here I feel like I never left

Beijing was really good I don't reccomend the places where have less foreigners

Is it easier to get rich and become millionaire in China than in Australia or Canada.
Depends how good you are with business (or otherwise how much you're willing to degrade yourself)...there's definitely a bigger market in China

i joined to local tour but it was completely shit. you know, all of the destination they said to go to in the first place aren't actually not, but only go to some place to perchase. it made me angry already.
while later,. I refused pay the money to enter "crocodile park" and it became small conflict. I kicked the bus's tier and then he panched me. ended up taking taxi to go to home by myself. that would looks nice idea but i actually made the t-shirt says "日中友好" and get stared as fuck by passengers the best behavior of japanese is still being calm..
Logan Allen
you should know better than to join those budget tours w
You can't win when people judge you before even talking to you though; even some 日中ハーフ get judged despite growing up there
Is the /sino/ group good? Can I practice my Chinese here or will I be out of my depth? Or is it just "quality posting"?

Question for Chinese expatriates: when China becomes the dominant military and economic force on the planet, will you forgive whitey his transgressions or exterminate him like a bug?

Sorry to hear that, but hey at least overall the Japanese's reputation in China is improving due to the softpower of anime and weeb culture. Korean on the other hand for some strange reason is getting the ire of the Chinese.
Hell, there currently existed a small growing Japanese community in Nanjing of all cities in China. The Japanese that are living in China is doing good work reconciling the relationship between the two nations.

>japs and aussies speaking in fluent Chinese t-these has to be proxies right?

Just wanted to say that China is one of the most based countries and cultures in the world. I'm Russian and every single Chinese immigrant that moves to Russia or even Europe is a big benefit.
Please consider moving to Europe. Move to Europe or if you're poor move to Russia. Marry a nice slav girl or boy and make many children. Russia especially needs Chinese genes to make superhumans.
Noah Jackson
nah, we're like whatever the Chinese equivalent of weeaboos is

Are you the same idiot that identified as Greek a few weeks ago?
Christopher Martinez
As a Chinese living in the USA, what attracted to you to China exactly? Went back to visiting my grandpa back in China last year, especially in tier 1 and 2 cities there are shit tons of laowais in the street. Since when did Chinese bacame so multicultural? Also I saw quite a number of Filipino, don't they hate China?
Brandon Powell

Too tired atm, I'll reply tomorrow morning if the thread's still up
Yeah, they're still popular for uni students, although they're definitely in the process of being phased out
不过我要问你,你为什么要去中国上大学?你是一个中文学生吗?If not, go to Singapore.
Also, >mfw 这是我一年多后的第一次说中文 Fucking 退化得很
Samuel Turner
懒得用中文回你~
I'm a Chinese studies major, so probably want to do my masters in a topic related to China, i.e. education reform, social policy etc.
I'm already pretty familiar with the region (have been to literally every major city), just not sure what the postgrad education's like.
What did you study, how did you find it? I'm assuming you did more than just the language courses?
>mfw 这是我一年多后的第一次说中文 慢慢来吧~
Jeremiah James
Nope, only did language courses; I did a year abroad in Dalian, got a scholarship for a master's degree in Beijing from my university (bailed after one year because I would have necked myself if I had to continue living there) and worked in Tianjin, Baoding and Shanghai. Unfortunately I don't have personal experience with non-Chinese post-grad courses in China, but from talking with other students and friends who did post-grads in China, they said they were generally shit and that they learned more doing their bachelor's degree in Europe or elsewhere than they did studying for a master's in China. This was in Dalian and Beijing, and the students all had the same impression whether they were studying mechanical engineering or social science or whatever else. You might be a bit different because your major would be very China-specific so you'd doubtless be surrounded by a wealth of very knowledgeable people in China, but if I were you I'd focus very hard on getting into China's top universities and not just any diploma mill university in a city you like. If you're serious about your education vs. just hanging out in China, that is.
I can say that categorically Hong Kong is the best university in China (inb4 butthurt 香港人 saying they're not Chinese) and would probably be the best combination of education, living standards and proximity to the mainland. After that, personally I'd choose Singapore on account of their stellar university and the fact that I love Singapore, but Fudan, Beida and Qinghua are all good choices.
