Reposting here in case someone knows. A martial art master gave me pic related this weekend. The translator was french and gave us an approximative traduction. I think it was something like "by practising martial art we become friends". I was hoping to have a better translation here.

Almost every household in America has a bathtub, but the vast majority of people prefer to shower. Showering is more common; it's part of the daily routine of almost everyone. Sometimes people have bathtubs that double as showers as well, that's a pretty common setup.

His criticism is potentially valid.
Plenty of universities are full of useless little shits who aren't really interested in knowledge or ideas, or in being challenged. If university is treated as a degree-mill by some students, then it devalues the institution for everyone.
Of course there are good students, students who are interested in thinking and learning, and who are intellectually curious. But there are two problems: universities don't primarily serve such students, and self-motivated learners can learn without university.
The real problem with Peru's criticism is that he's not an example of the good type of student.
Eskimos and sailors. Some Japs used to live there but the Russians kicked them out.

Why is the Japanese thread so chaotic?

I've spent a bit longer in Japan, so I might have more in-depth knowledge and a broader perspective. I am not sure I can give an opinion as a traveller.
Instead, here is what my parents thought of the Japanese, from when they went over as tourists:
friendly polite orderly seem like they like to have fun (but in different ways to us) often smiling and chatting

I believe that you didn't pay the nanami san, the spammer, to make this thread mess. You are sometimes crazy (sorry) but you aren't such a person, I think. Where did you go on a trip? Did you have a fun?

Someone with a figurative stick up their bum has created a spambot for the sole purpose of destroying this thread. It randomly chooses posts in the thread to anchor, and then pastes some posts from previous threads.
If we keep reporting the posts, the janitor or mod can usually delete them, but he always finds a new proxy...
