The PRI could be using this opportunity to stand up to US interests with global support given international disdain for Trump and could consolidate power for the next few decades if they enacted some sort of domestic conciliatory policies towards the far right and left wing policies, creating a coalition movement. They'd probably even get some approval from American leftists, but instead they'll cling to their idiotic nepotistic dumbfuckery, try to cheat in the next election, and ensure that a radical left party or ultra conservative party with a pro Europe anti-US slant will dominate the political future.

I'd always considered the more right wing PAN to be the elitist Mexican political party more dedicated to globalism and pro-business, pro-American policies, though PRI turned out to by the shittier more whipped of the two. I guess the PAN isn't solely because they're more nationalistic and put their own Mexico-centric far right policies ahead of making a quick buck; to an extent.

Regarding manufacturing yes. But every time I see Mexico US trade come up, especially regarding agriculture, Mexico is bending over for US interests. It's fucking insane, especially considering agriculture still employs the poorest 1/5th of the Mexican population. It's creating more poverty for already poor rural people, just like when NAFTA opened up the Mexican corn market to subsidized US imports.
