What wars and battles deserve movies Sup Forums?
What wars and battles deserve movies Sup Forums?
Balkan Wars
>Protagonist fighting Turks
>Battles in cities
...
Bonus points if it's a comedy.
Siege of Constantinople, 1453.
Not a battle, but the story of Private Wojek would make a great movie
Always wanted to see this done, but it's chink history so it's unlikely.
Monitor vs Merrimac
Emu war.
It'd be CGI trash though since you're not allowed to use real animals these days.
...
WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THAT
Raid on Zeebrugge in WWI
Royal Marines storm a mole in Zeebrugge, Belgium where a German destroyer unbeknownst to them docked the night before, they suffer heavy losses, all so that 4 blockships can sail up the river past the mole, scuttle themselves at the entrance and thus preventing the German U-boats based there from leaving, the final act was for a British skeleton crewed submarine to park itself underneath the bridge leading to the mole, and blow itself up, thus the German garrison on the mainland could not reach the mole and reinforce the troops there.
Blockship crew, sub crew and Royal Marines sail back to England, having done a damn good job, and crippling the operations of the subs there for a while. Heavy losses suffered by the Royal Marine commandos though.

Wagecuck vs. NEET war
>tfw no series of sword and sandal epics based on the punic wars.
>The machine-gunners' dreams of point blank fire into serried masses of Emus were soon dissipated. The Emu command had evidently ordered guerrilla tactics, and its unwieldy army soon split up into innumerable small units that made use of the military equipment uneconomic. A crestfallen field force therefore withdrew from the combat area after about a month. - ornithologist Dominic Serventy
>If we had a military division with the bullet-carrying capacity of these birds it would face any army in the world... They can face machine guns with the invulnerability of tanks. They are like Zulus whom even dum-dum bullets could not stop. - Major Meredith
These are actual goddamn quotes from actual goddamn experts.
All of them
delete this ya cunt
How the fuck

The Icelandic Cod Wars trilogy
Any Byzantine/Roman war
The Battle of Attu
>only battle of the pacific theatre with artic conditions
>only land battle of WW2 on american soil
>ended in brutal hand-to-hand combat when a japanese banzai charge broke american lines
>Medieval 2: Total War AI
>France + allies starts war with Venice
>France and Venetian victory
Somebody explain this shit to me
Italians like to change sides in war.
...
This basically irl battle of Helms Deep.
couple of cool points
>defenders were outnumbered 30 to 1
>held the fortress for a month
>upon breaching the fortress 600 ottomans are killed instantly by a macgyvered, space ork worthy shotgun mortar
>the rest of the defenders sally out and get slaughtered by the ottomans
>as a final fuck you to the ottomans, the fortress commander ordered the blackpowder stores detonated, killing 3000 ottomans
>7 defenders our of 3000 survive
I would love a movie (or even better, tv-show) adaptation of "Storm of Steel".
But the goddamn germans would never do that.
10/10 would watch
...
France starts war with Venice because of their expansionist ambitions.
France convinces the Papal League to join on their side.
Venice spreads rumors about France conspiring against the pope and makes the Papal States switch sides.
The pope asks all crhistian nations to join their side again.
Venice switches sides and wins with France.
Really hard to make a movie out of it though.
>HURRRR IF ITS CGI ITS TRASH
I hate this regressive thinking. CGI is just digitized practical effects. Stop being a pretentious retard.
>beliving wikipedia numbers

I hate australians who roleplay as bogans on the internet. who are you trying to impress?
>CGI is just digitized practical effects

Caesar's conquest of Gaul and rhe civil wars. It would be an epic, the first film set in Gaul, Caesar messing their shit up, and the next two films about him backing Cleopatra in Egypt and winning the civil war against Pompey. Basically it would be Rome, the film. But with better battles showing the tactics and stuff with live action like Waterloo.
Does anyone actually find shit like this funny? Smells like Sup Forums being retarded.
I know it's real, I was talking about the bit where the author was trying to be funny with the casualties and losses section.
I would bet that there are at least five movies about it in China. Probably all shit propaganda though.
I appreciated this much more than I expected to and I'm a "wagecuck"...
>the first film set in Gaul, Caesar messing their shit up
More like Vercingetorix's shiftless allies fucking *his* up.
...
Hello Mehmet.
Caesar had a hand in it as well, look at the battle of Alesia.
>[citation needed]
We get it, you read the epic Cracked.com article.
Battle of Buda 1686
Holy League removing kebab.
We.
Don't.

Why are you trying to show off to Americans?
This would make a nice comedy
>curb your enthusiasm theme starts playing

Christians truly had talent to fuck everything up
>what are sieges
The siege of Malta
en.wikipedia.org
Not a battle but it would still be kino
Operation Anthropoid
Where the Brits assassinated one man and then got 13,000 Czechs killed and entire towns leveled in reprisal.
Not to mention, divide and conquer was part of Caesar's strategy.
>Not present in the area
ROBERT DOWNEY JR AND TOBEY MAGUIRE IN...
PASSION OF THE WORM
There's a movie released about this literally right now
youtube.com
>551 AD they're in china
>552 AD they contact Justinian to smuggle worms
>2 years in total for the trip
This seems rather short for a byzantine empire - china trip
Slavs are not real people anyway.
Fucking hell this would be incredible.
no muslims around to disrupt passage
Could it last an entire movie?
t Americucc who is probably of Slavic ancestry anayway
Literally only muslims between Byzantines and India.
Not in 550AD retard
Must have got a limited release because I knew absolutely nothing about this.
you could fill one feature length movie with each France Vs Coalition war
>le countryball XDDDD
I feel sorry for the person who made this.
you could do a miniserie for each desu
Is anyone even surprised anymore?
It's ok user. The person who made this doesn't care.
This guy, and how he BTFO all the chirstians.
Wouldn't surprise me. Sup Forumsards are usually beyond saving.
No. It's more the fact that you saying you are sorry for them here, doesn't mean they are aware of you being sorry for them.
>you could fill one feature length movie with each France Vs Coalition war
>implying Anglo propaganda would ever let that happen
Regrettably for us, I think we're doomed to be relegated to DLCs in Battlefield 1, or whichever war it was in which we were prominent, all the while the English reign the world into wrapping its mouth around their genitalia.
See: Dunkirk, which will devolve into "British strong, France meh" tropes
>lost at Lepanto
I don't think you know what btfo means
I know. But even if they were aware it would be a waste of time. Sup Forums is reserved for people who are too stupid/autistic to use Sup Forums, which is really saying something.
The lobsters war.
ah yes 'btfo'
>Sup Forums is reserved for people who are too stupid/autistic to use Sup Forums
To be perfectly fair the brits aren't even the top of the historical revisionism for retarded audiences food chain
