Why are you so emotionally invested in it?
who said I was? Im just sick of everyone talking about it all the fucking time
Nah. That would lead to suffering, and I'm not a bitter autist like the majority of this board.
It's a great series to watch with family and friends. You're missing out. Stop lashing out at us when you're the one choosing to not participate. Grow the fuck up.
I hate Western culture. It's fucking terrible.
Lmao get lost grandpa

Yes, I'm old and I probably shouldn't be on Sup Forums anymore.
>You're missing out
nigga, I used to love it but Im sick of it being over hyped all the fucking time. I dont want t osee a new star wars movie ever god damn year, its ten times worse than capeshit; at least that has some variety

It's just normie garbage and the latest movie made me hate the franchise. I'll probably pass on seeing the next one.
Well, it's obvious from you saying you hate it. If you weren't emotionally invested in it you wouldn't hate it. You just wouldn't care.
>It's just normie garbage
This
Right after the force awakens was released, and faggots here were talking nonstop and disecting it as if there was something there.
It was fucking nothing, it was a soft reboot with nostalgic fedora nods and i am overall just tired of star wars in general and anything nerd posers latch upon to make them look ''geeky XD'' i just want these people gone, i am hoping for the next big normie thing to come up, its time for them to move on and ruin something else.
When Disney bought it.
Before that I had just gradually grown out of it.
It's not even the destruction of the canon, unceremonious as it was, it's the "modernising" of the franchise.
>inb4 "hurr another Sup Forums hipster who hates normies"
No, Star Wars was always accessible to non-nerds, it's just that it wasn't pure pandering sop for nostalgia hipsters and tumblr "not like the other girls" girls.
This new "treatment" of the IP isn't worth taking seriously in even a "film buff" sense, let alone a canon-combing "nerd" sense. It's just another seat-filling popcorn-swilling corporate product. It won't have George Lucas' personal autism imparting character to them like the prequels, let alone the "lightning in a bottle" the original movies did almost four decades ago.
>2008
Because of this?
I noticed this before I reached puberty.
The series was good, the movie was meh.
It was completely soulless, when they started the trench run I couldn't believe I'd just seen a rehashed Star Wars 4.
I forgot that was in theaters
when Disney bought it. Final nail in the coffin
I was never crazy about it.
Who is that absolute drop dead gorgeous chick in pic though?
thats C 3PO
Heh. You're alright, user.
I honestly never watched a single clip from any of the Star Wars, I could if I gave a shit but I'm 23 now so not only do I doubt I could coast on the nostalgia of it but I never was into when it was really popular so it seems like a waste.
I enjoyed the racing game on the n64 though.
Shut your face. The series was goat.
I wish i was home playing Fifa
I've never hated Star Wars, but my interest dropped-off by the time AotC came out.
I was pretty hyped for TPM, though.
...
Hated the prequels, but they made a few good star wars games since them. What really killed it for me was that fucking star wars dancing game. what the fuck is this?
>1999
>20
Jesus that game is awful
Is that her real face?
Her master Sauron bids thee welcome.
That series was literally the best thing to ever have the Star Wars brand
I started liking it less after TFA but I think Rogue One is going to be excellent
i recently realized that my attachment to star wars is entirely through video games
...
but the other clone wars cartoon is better
Star Wars Kino tier list:
God Tier: IV, V, Clone Wars, Battlefront 2, KotoR, Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars
Great tier: III, Battlefront 1, Jedi Knight, KotoR 2, LEGO
OK tier: TFA, VI, I, Force Unleashed
Meh tier: II, Force Unleashed 2
Shit tier: Clone Wars movie, Kinect, Prequel movie games
revenge of the sith was when i started looking at star wars critically rather than unconditionally loving any and all star wars. so 12-13.
the tartakovsky miniseries was better
2014
mah niggas. The samurai jack clone wars was awesome
it was when they brought up the SUPER death star that I wanted to walk out
Why start hating 3 years after EP3 and years before Lucas sold out?
>mah niggas. The samurai jack clone wars was awesome
plebs, the lot of you
The action was awesome af no doubt, but the 2008 one had way more characterization and was way more intense. The 2003 one was just "let's skip around the galaxy seeing characters be super badass" while 2008 actually made the clones real people, made Anakin likeable, explained the Seperatists, actually made it feel like a real war, and did a much better job of characterizing everyone than the movies did.
I think everything started to look lame to me after 2009
You might be suffering from depression user.
because I was still fairly young and couldnt see how bad the prequels were initially
There's a post about how with episode 7 there's not even the delusion that it's anything other than a corporate product now.
When you see the millennium falcon all you can think about now is it as a happy meal toy and john Williams' theme is no longer a score it's a jingle. I don't have the post but maybe someone else has.
It's not that it wasn't whored out already it's just you could at least tell George Lucas had SOME creative vision no matter how shit.
And now that's totally gone and it's a franchise a studio will force their hired puppet director to reshoot half of if their vision doesn't seem profitable enough.
I don't hate it, but my lack of interest in the series was sealed when I went to a friend's house and saw his room decked out in thousands of dollars of Star Wars memorabilia. the series exists to sell action figures.
Star Wars died after the prequels.
Not because the prequels were bad (although they were) but because the series reached its conclusion.
Everything after episode 3 is glorified fan fiction .
I hate Andrew love it.
Honestly, it's been diminishing returns since the Zahn trilogy in the early 90s.
TFA was baby's first Star Wars fan-fiction tier remix. I still bought the blu-ray...
I was never into Star Wars. I haven't even seen the newer 3 that everyone shit on. I did see TFA and it was quite average.
This all day. Whatever magic star wars once had has been eroded by decades of empty, soulless merchandise and commercialization. I was shocked that people still wanted more star wars movies last year, I thought people were already sick of it by now
i dont hate star wars
i just dont care about it
kek
I never understood the appeal to begin with.
It's not even sci-fi aimed at the lowest common denominator like the Martian,
it's just a generic run-of-the-mill fantasy saga but in space.
who would buy these?
This.
It used to be a cult thing that was hugely popular like capeshit and now it's nthe most bland market tested normie shit trying to appeal to normalfags who would have mocked anyone for liking it in the 90s.
They unironically remade episode 4 and there are retards like RLM who will try to defend this.
I don't hate Star Wars, I'm just tired of Disney.
Everything they touch turns into cynical cashgrabs.
Yeah, I dont even like pixar movies anymore
i resented revenge of the sith because it got a soft pass from people who should've known better but other than that i don't hate star wars. i'll probably never see the disney ones.
I never really was what you'd call a fan of Star Wars. It always seemed like infantile garbage. I always preferred Trek, grew up watching based TNG and DS9.
There's almost zero thought process behind Wars. It's just laser swords, space battles, and mystical hoodoo linked to bugs in the bloodstream.
It's the new capeshit.
I thought that they were going to be yearly things like every November/December there would be another movie but then I learned that it was even worse and Rogue One is only going to be released at the end of the year because it was DELAYED.
So yeah you'll see a movie released every 6 months by 2018 and the IP being whored out to an extent that Lucas couldn't even dream of.
2005, age 12. That's when I first saw Star Trek the Original Series.
Why would I hate two good classic movies?
...
This user understands
This, desu.
Why are you guys so obsessed with Amy Schumer? Every time I come here there's at least 3 posts complaining about her. I think she's pretty funny
This
The Force Awakens was mediocre. Not as bad as the prequels, no, but the prequels at least gave us years of memes. TFA gave us nothing.
Fart.
Like one sequel in a decade up until Disney bought them now there's so many they had to actually release a statement saying they'd be taking a rest from sequels........after incredibles 2
Because everything besides a new hope and empire strikes back is lackluster or terrible

>Red Letter Media
I was pretty disappointed in that last Plinkett review. He spent like 90 minutes talking about circle theory, only to finally say that it was bullshit when I knew that from the beginning. Episode 7 had bad...everything. Characterization, plot, the fact that every element of that movie is a rehash of something already in Star Wars. It totally lacks imagination and creativity, and they mention that in the review but in other RLM videos they seem fine with it. But I knew that their opinions didn't mean much when they liked the 2009 Star Trek reboot.
>made the clones real people, made Anakin likeable, explained the Seperatists, actually made it feel like a real war, and did a much better job of characterizing everyone than the movies did.
nope. The characterization was cartoon tier - quips and exasperated looks all round.
At least the samurai jack one was cool to watch. Who watches Star Wars for fucking awful character development?
Does anyone have that ridiculous Star Wars Garry potter name fusion post?
People like TFA because they want to fit in and pretend that everyone likes the same shit. Most fans of this film are the same type that say they like 2001 despite not actually seeing it.
It's a cultural signal that "Hey - I'm normal too - let's be friends!" Other good examples are GoT and shit like the Avengers. If you don't like these you can be seen as an "other" or not worth including in the general group.
Dont compare force awakens to 2001 you pleb
I've never seen the movie, but I read the book. The intro was neat, then there was a big chunk of the middle where it was boring, then Frank (I think that was his name) dies in space and floats off towards saturn, then the HAL stuff, then he gets to the...what was it? A wormhole? Anyway, after that it gets so weird. They must have been on drugs when they wrote that ending.
people like this garbage
Plenty of people admit publicly they never saw 2001 and/or they didn't like it.
That film is a cult classic but it's still too weird for normies.
I never gave a shit about it so never.
Never, because i never actually liked it that much...funny, acceptable story, nice design of the ships but for sure not that masterpiece spammed by normies. Also I've never watched the 7th, spammed like hell fucking everywhere
Star Jew is terrible
that is the movie
I never gave a shit about it and I dont understand why so many people at my age do
Whenever I first played KOTOR2 and realized that Lucas was a hack relying on worn out "light vs dark" bullshit. Not that KOTOR2 was some shining beacon of genius either, but it made me look at how basic the movies are. Furthermore, I could take off the blinders and see retarded most people are for being so obsessed with it.
By the way, Star Wars is better if you view it as an homage and throwback to previous works that Lucas loved during his childhood or learned to admire when he became a director. Kind of like Pulp Fiction. The 7th didn't have throwbacks to other genres or movies, it was just a heartless corporate re-tread of the originals.
>2005

I still like the OT and pretend to be a Star Wars fan but sometime in the middle of ROTS I questioned why the fuck I was still watching this awful shit, it just left a bad taste in my mouth because the ending was just nostalgia pandering and all the new ideas were terrible. TFA was pretty much the same way, a little bit more confident, but fuck it was so overhyped.
Now that they're coming out with one every year I might have to out myself as being disinterested in the series.

If you think the characterization was "cartoon tier" then you must feel the same about TFA, the OT, and every single Marvel movie because you literally cannot make a valid argument that they did a better job than TCW.
the dude who made samurai jack did it better
1999 to 2009
So about 6 to 16
