Awesome movies that you never see discussed on Sup Forums thread?

Recently saw this and it was fucking great. Can't really put my finger on it, but something about the depressing, claustrophobic atmosphere really had me engaged

>the black guys can fly, but one is beaten by dropping through a scaffold
>that power beam battle in the end

It had good setting but completely dropped the ball

could all of them fly or just the bosses? Anyway, it had some hammy moments but not enough to really put me off

>that power beam battle in the end

that rinky dink sound effect.
bah I still love it.

My father-in-law recommended it and I loved it. My wife hated it and got spooped.

I rarely see 1408 mentioned in horror threads but it's one of my favorites

Dark City is maximum overkino.

Dan Schneider's review really gets it down: cosmoetica.com/B814-DES656.htm

He's not 'that' Dan Schneider, he's a really good critic who shares the name.

I loved this movie. It's like the proto-Matrix.

...

This almost beats out Donnie Darko for most overrated movie of all time

I like the theater cut without the actual monster in it

This poster looks cool af, until you watch the movie and everything looks cheesy and unscary

was pretty good
fucking better than don't breath by a long shot

I don't understand, did you think it was supposed to be scary?

that's part of why I liked it, it wasn't really a horror, more like a dark fairy tale

see pic related

>everything looks cheesy and unscary
The strangers created Dark City based on what they learned from watching American movies.

I fucking hate jonathan lithgow
I keep seeing him pop up in old movies and he's fucking awful

just saw raising cain and it actually blew my goddamn mind how he got any work at all

I have a similar irrational hatred of William H Macy

What monster? I don't remember one and I watched both...

he probably means the charred corpse in Samuel Jackson's car that flashes for a second

>Good movies never discussed on Sup Forums
>People post average well-known movies that are occasionally discussed on Sup Forums
This board is so bad.

shit user you've given me a lot to think about

I could post good movies never discussed on Sup Forums, but who would care? It's that way for a reason, nobody's seen them or cares about them.

>Heaven's Gate
>The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea
>Eye of the Devil
>The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse
>The Fury
>Stars In My Crown
>Under Siege 2

This could go on forever. I don't see how this is helpful. Don't you have anything to say about Dark City? It's an interesting movie.

Watched it yesterday with high hopes. Final battle went full retard

is that "literally killed Westerns for decades" Heaven's Gate?

I find the more dramatic title: "literally killed western film-making forever" Heaven's Gate to be more accurate.

Kris Kristofferson is something of a hero of mine. I just love him so much.

Watch Raising Cain
Consider suicide.

one of the best films of 2015 and barely even discussed in here. shame that people can't appreciate the cinematography and the aesthetics of this film

kill yourself Bill all your movies are shit, including Fargo

>tfw your first time watching this was the director's cut that spoiled part of a major plot twist within the first five seconds of the movie.

see I keep hearing that but I only saw the DC and I can't recall how it spoils anything

>Under Siege 2
As far as steaming piles of shit go, it's completely forgettable. When the bad guy is discount Paul Reiser, you know you've got some problems.

I thought the bad guy was funny

10/10 comfy film OP

>tfw you watch it again and the crazy detective guy literally explains everything and its so obvious even though he sounded mental the first time

Good writing

And completely non threatening. Doesn't hold a candle to Tommy Lee Jones in the original,

The villain is a complete clown but his plan is serious enough. I just go into Seagal kinos knowing that nobody is going to present a serious threat to him, that's how they work.

Naked by Mike Leigh is top tier depressing British kino

Plus its got Lupin from Harry Potter with his cock and balls out

>Intelligent, educated and eloquent, Johnny is also deeply embittered and egotistical: he will fight and provoke anyone he meets to prove his superiority. His tactics of choice in verbal interaction are based on a particular form of intellectual bullying, uniformly directed at people less cultured than himself, and summed up in domineering, scholastic barrages drawn from eclectic sources. His overall behaviour is reckless, self-destructive and at times borderline sadistic.

Sounds like Sup Forums made flesh tb h

>intelligent, educated and eloquent
something doesn't fit here
