Based Mel's at it again

I care about captain america
he's my favorite avenger

>this level of self-delusion
He probably thinks he made Citizen Kane too

hes literally /our guy/

They're not that violent, Mel.

>more violent than his movies that are r rated movies
>most violent thing I've seen in marvel movies was probably the nazi who got sucked into the propeller in captain America
Lol...

>mass destruction and human casualties during pretty much every Marvel action scene
>never care and just want more scenes where the Hulk punches something or Thor shoots lightning

He's right. Nobody cares about that stuff in the Marvel movies.

>Marvel movies
>more violent than Passion of the Christ

damn and here I was hoping Mel stopped drinking and was back to focusing on his art

...

Technically marvel capeshit doesnt show any graphic violence only lots of cgi explosions and mook deaths.

But point taken nevertheless.

Yeah but the body count in a Marvel flick is probably 10000x any of his films.

Drinking's what inspires his art.

wtf

that's just a straight up lie

apocalypto makes anything marvel makes look like even MORE of a disney film

But is it really violent if it's never seen and only implied? That's the whole reason it's pg-13. I get what Mel's saying but if we're being literal here he's wrong

More fighting, absolutely

More graphic violence, nigga please

This is his way of shilling RDJ's toybox isn't it? One of the problem's with Marvel is their action is weightless.

no link fuck you

Literally only a couple of hundred over 15 films

>no link fuck you

amazing that it took this long for this to be said.

ARE YOU ALL FIRST YEAR POSTERS?

It's literally a google search away.

I got shit posting to do the burden is on OP.

He's just calling out modern capeshit for what it is: cinematic crack devoid of any artistic purpose except to get you hooked so you'll watch the next one.

>He's just calling out
Nope. He's a little bitch on that front these days.

>“To talk about the violence question, look at any Marvel movie. They’re more violent than anything that I’ve done
Marvel movies are not violent at all so what is he on about?

The lack of weight and personal consequence for all the destruction caused.

>But is it really violent if it's never seen and only implied
yes. Also the question is what party violence plays in the narrative and in the marvel movie it is always a center piece.

Screw artistic purpose. Capeshit fails at even the most basic of storytelling. The point we at right now is just satisfying certain emotional responses in a regurgitated, absolutely predictable set of archetypes that are just continuously repackaged into a new wrapping. It's just visual stimulation now - a video game that you cannot play.

but Marvel movies are kiddy friendly soft action so him stating that they are violence makes his entire sentence false.

God damnit stop taking this out of context he was trashing Marvel and DC because he was trashing capeshit. People on this board need to stop arguing over which shit is stinkier.

>that face when Mel is right yet again

You are now aware that you live in a world, a terrifying world, where there are people right this moment who use terms such as "canon" and "cinematic universe" when talking about films and television shows.

A terrifying world where imagined characters on a screen are required, according to those who discuss them, to adhere to "ground rules" set out by the creators of said-characters. A terrifying world where those that discuss these characters and their actions, are actually enraged if said-characters deviate from the mannerisms expected of them, the mannerisms that may have initially been set in the pages of a comic book.

Think about that. A comic book. For children. Yes, pictures and words on the same page, which are meant to be read by children, that are actually read by adults who then bicker and express their frustration at film-adaptations of these comic books not being "faithful". Faithful to a comic book. That's supposed to be read by young children.

This is your world. This is the world of capeshit. Terrifying, isn't it?

lol what the fuck is wrong with you? you think capeshit aimed at toddlers and chinks is better than braveheart or apocalypto?

avatar posting is against the rules

enjoy your ban

Son, have you been drinking?

I know this is probably pasta but it hit the nail on the head

>Lethal Weapon guy shittalking capeshit

So he's a DCbro?

does james woods have a twitter? if so, i'd love to see him do a reading of this on youtrube.

After Robert Downey Jr publicly defended him he gets stabbed in the back like this. Must feel bad

>Yes, pictures and words on the same page, which are meant to be read by children, that
I am really not much of a capeshitter and stopped reading my beloved Batman comics when I was 14 or so but this statement is oversimplifying to the extent that it is wrong.

he said batman Vs was a piece of shit

Based Mel on GOAT watch,

>does james woods have a twitter?
yes he's roseanne tier crazy

Same here but at no time in Civil Wah did I care because I knew he wasnt going to die

Based

All capeshitters must hang

>giving a shit about jesus
>2016 anno domini

>They’re more violent than anything that I’ve done,
No Mel, we all saw passion of the christ. You made one of the most violent movies ever.

>passion of the christ
>one of the most violent movies ever.

based Mel is right again

>it's ok that hundreds of innocent henchmen die because it looks like a videogame

Fuck off Marvel shills

Mel hates Cap for fighting the Nazis. He's a racist pig.

user the majority of the movie is torture porn as they beat the shit our of an innocent man. Its fucking purpose IS violence.

Passion of the Christ was literally torture porn. It was a horror movie far worse than Saw or Human Centipede in terms of disturbing content. What is he babbling about.

The movie is about showing the suffering of the man who died for our sins. There wouldn't be any point if he just took a casual walk to the cross. The man did suffer. And his suffering is our redemption.

Comics are fucking garbage

I haven't seen Passion of the Christ. Is it really as awful as Saw where it's just torture porn for the sake of the torture? I saw Hacksaw Ridge and I felt the violence was appropriate for the story.

Don't hate the industry Mel. Hate the movie going public.

>my old jewish fiction movie is better than modern jewish fiction movie

>mfw this pasta btfo's capeshitters every single time, 60% of the time

> the majority of the movie is torture porn
There are movies that are only torture porn. So unless you mean to say that the Passion is one of the most violent 1000 movies or so your statement is wrong. Pic related.

Fairy tales. Christians worship a corpse on a cross. Would be like worshipping a man on an electric chair. Do you even realise how morbid your iconography is?

Kek

Stop derailing the thread. Nothing makes me think he is christian. He describes the narrative of an actual movie.

The fact that Mel makes movies about people who die when they get shot and not cartoon characters shooting laser beams at each other who make big DBZ style cracks in the wall when they hit them probably helps

aren't he and RDJ very tight?

granted RDJ probably agrees and thinks capeshit is awful which is why he keeps making serious and some non-capeshit like the Sherlock flicks on the side at WB.

>The movie is about showing the suffering of the man who died for our sins.
So is BvS :^)

>non-capeshit like the Sherlock flicks
I needed a laugh

Everyone involved in Marvel movies think it's trash. They do it for the paycheck. And so would we if given the chance. RDJ's contract is worth more than some African countries.

first post best post

Another enemy of the Marvel shiteaters. You're going to see the negativity ramp up now because these Marvel drones can't handle someone talking poorly of their cartoon movies.

He's just butthurt that hacksaw ridge is getting btfo by dr. Strange. His transparency and thin skin are so easily read in that statement. He's probably mad that he might have to go back to funding his movies.

Like clockwork
The Marvel shill appears on time to defend his cartoon movies.

RDJ is in for the money and the bitches man, he isn't an executive producer after 14 movies ffs. He's as much as a yes men as the meme directors Feige hires

I'm 90% sure RDJ doesn't give a fuck about the movies but does them because it's easy work and he can charge Disney more than the operating costs of some militaries

It's true though, and i love mel. Hacksaw ridge was ok, i liked it but it seems to be getting overrated praise. Everything i said in my post is true.

Mel's wrong tho. We can argue that.

Why is it always about dying or surviving? You can get hurt and lose even if you survive. No one died at the end of empire yet nothing went right either.

I read this in his Hades voice.

Robert Downey Jnr is just making sure he has enough money to pay off the judge in case he's busted for drugs again, so he doesn't go back to jail.

...

>Dr Quips better than Hacksaw Ridge
Aye, the Marvel shiteater never stops his delusions. You got your box office numbers you so desperately crave. I don't think you need anything more. Atleast I don't get the impression reading posts about people defending Dr Iron Man.

Oh my friend, my friend, I'm going to introduce you to such a world of delights

twitter.com/RealJamesWoods

He's right in terms of the sheer volume of violence that takes place on screen. It's just portrayed in a dull, watered down fashion and a lot of it occurs to robots, aliens and other fantasy creatures. This is in fact pretty common these days, the tyranny of PG-13 sometimes leads to incredibly brutal violence going unnoticed because the censors and the audiences are utterly unimaginative.

>mcucks turning their back on mel for capeshit

not surprised

I don't remember the CGI looking this bad

Holy shit.

>those posts

He MUST browse Sup Forums.

>They’re more violent than anything that I’ve done
do Marvel films even have blood?

Exactly. Mel is honest about violence. Those capeshit movies where people get constantly blasted up aren't. They are deceptive. They glorify violence. People say Mel is crazy but the truth is that the jew producers of Marvel are far more psychotic than our dear Gibson is. Gibson understands the atrocity of conflict. The Marvel jews don't. They glorify it. They reduce it to something fun and entertaining.

Capeshiteaters are the prime target audience for these movies because they're autists unable to empathize with the common man.

It's more bloody but it isn't more violent.

manchild capeshitters BTFO

He's right.

There's a point to the violence in all his films. The point of the violence in MCU films is entertainment.

>More violent than my movies.

Bullshit, but he right about it having more gravity. The revenge scene in Braveheart is probably one of the most emotionally violent scenes I've ever seen and about 3 minutes of it is just Wallace on a horse looking pissed off before shit gets real.

If Mel expects me to believe that chopping a guys leg off and slitting a guys throat against a post is LESS violent than Captain America punching Iron Man I'd tell him to fuck off to his face. However, it is more tastefully done, and with better directing.

>That thunder as he approaches the compound.
>That horse walking through the mud.
>That thunder after the fight

Shit gives me chills every time.

That's because capeshit is usually very forgettable now.

Everything is the same. Everyone has the same kind of textured outfit. Every movie has the exact same beats. Every character is acting the same way. The jokes are all from the same mold. The imagery is flat.

At least DC tries a little (but they mostly fail.)

I miss the 80s/90s capeshit.

When did this place get filled up with soccer moms? First people here whined about violence in Tarantino's films, then about violence in the Walking Dead, and now you're whining about violence in Marvel movies of all things?

And at the time people were probably afraid Luke was going to be killed or Han would be dead or something similar since no one knew ep6 would come. With Marvel the ride doesnt end and no character stays dead. Im watching two people having a bar brawl not a fight to the death.

Silence of the Lambs is a good example of creating a character the audience fears losing. it has one of the best end-movie-battles.

This man, the real issue is how fucking bland and boring Marvel movies are, not the violence. He's right about no one giving a fuck about the characters though, but extended toy commercials aren't the proper place to look for character development

>Violence:
>behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something.
He's right. It has nothing to do with blodd or even end result, but about the act itself. Marvel is all about fight first, talk only to make a quip. Then fight some more.

Let's be honest: Capeshit is the new Wrestling.

Forgot to add cap walks away at the end with no bruises or development at all

>If Mel expects me to believe that chopping a guys leg off and slitting a guys throat against a post is LESS violent than Captain America punching Iron Man I'd tell him to fuck off to his face. However, it is more tastefully done, and with better directing.

It is.

He removed the glorification of violence that is a part of such action in MCU films. Violence should have weight to it. It's when it becomes commonplace and is portrayed flippantly that it really starts to become a problem.

It's bullshit. People see lots of blood and get turned off, but they'll watch people constantly punching each other for 100 minutes without blood and it's okay.

>Capeshit is the new Wrestling
This makes a shocking amount of sense

you are missing the point idiot

Wrestling was fun and gave us the They Live fight. Pure Kino.

What did capeshit gave us, beside cancer? Iconic moral heroes from our childhood comics using guns and killing people? Bad CGI and quips?
