I live in a commuter town about 100 miles from New York and I'm starting to see luxury condos EVERYWHERE.

Entire neighborhoods are being bought out and razed to make room for big sterile $2000+ a month yuppieblocks. Some of these condos are even more expensive than certain apartments in the city proper. Gentrification has not only affected NYC itself but is also starting to affect towns on the far periphery as well.
