Cast it

cast it

ignatius j reilly - me

John Can--

oh... right... (._.) (;_;)

>because you signed it, idiot boy.

Everyone says the movie is unfilmable but I simply don't see it.

Though the other roles are okay, I dunno who'd play Ignatius. Maybe Jonah Hill?

too jewey

Marlon brando as ignatius

You can't go for John C Reilly because he's too "dumb". I think Jonah's jewiness helps the smarmy, over-intellectual slob angle.

Will Ferrell is too old now, John Candy and Belushi are dead, Farley too. Zach Galifianakis can't pull off intelligent without looking likeable.

Basically you need an intellectual, sharp, mean slob more than a funny, jovial fat guy.

His mom can be any grating old bitch (great character). Jones is Mos Def. Mancuso was cast as Paul Rudd once and I can't help but keep seeing that. The lesbian pornographer could be anyone.

It really hinges on Ignatius and I can't imagine any one remotely close to fitting him other than Jonah Hill right now. Maybe TJ Miller, if you push it?

>@nfederacy

I could play Ignatius. I never read the book and don't even know what it's about but from what you guys say, I could do it except I'm a little not smarmy enough.

John Goodman could've played Ignatius but he's too old now

It's a great book.

Ignatius is a verbose, smart, mean, opinionated, sloppy, farting jackass.

Actually... come to think of it... pic related is perfect.

Daily reminder that this book is too "racist" by todays standards therefore will never be made into a movie

The book is shitty and juvenile. I'm not surprised Toole killed himself.

t. didn't get it

What's racist about it?

I think society goes through phases and the current one of everything needing BBC/muslims/woke gays/trannies will subside a bit and normalize.

The 60s in New Orleans was a racially charged time, ain't nothing wrong with depicting it.

It's not the best, but it's one of my all-time favourites.

jones

And yes, even depicting things historically accurately is deemed racist today, that's why the word "nigger" is said a thousand times in westerns or movies set before the 70's

Also, the depiction of gays will cause a collective shitstorm

Get off of pol you retard.

Jones is a great character, and he mocks white people and his own predicament over and over. He'd be perfect in today's climate even. Leslie Jones made a career of it.

John C Reilly maybe?

Maybe - big maybe - Danny McBride

I wish you could just cast Comic Book Guy

Danny McBride would be great, maybe too dumb

>What's racist about it?
I think the whole "Campaign for Moorish Dignity" thing would go over poorly these days.

>You can't go for John C Reilly because he's too "dumb".
He can pull of intelligent easily, have you never seen Carnage? He does smug as fuck perfectly too. I'd love to see him in this role.

Ah smug is good. I saw Carnage but I felt like his wife was smuggier, and he was outsmugged by the jew hunter.

>tfw I was going to use the Ignatius = me joke but someone said it

Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
